    Do you have a main series Pokemon game that you don't know what to do with? Are you looking for a challenge that isn't as hard as a monotype challenge but still challenging? How about you try a Duotype Challenge!

    Basically, you go through at least one of the games using a team completely consisting of only two types. It can be quite the challenge, especially when facing a leader or elite who is resistant to your entire team! But that's what makes it more fun, right? ^_^

    Single Game Duotype Rules

    •Please put all posts regarding the plot of the fifth generation games in spoiler tags.
    •No hacking or cheating. This includes using the Missingno glitch in RBY.
    •You may not use Legendary Pokémon, even if they are of your type.
    •You can trade only eggs to your game and hatch them at an appropriate time only if you can't catch one of your team before the third gym.
    •When starting your journey in each game, you will have to play the game using just your starter Pokémon. Then, once you gain access to the first available Pokémon of your type, continue from then on with only that type. You can use your starter to help with training these Pokémon, but cease using it in gym battles at this point. In the Kanto games, you also must catch the first Pokémon of your type before cutting the bush east of Cerulean City.
    •You can use HM slaves of different types; just don't use them in battles.
    •You may only use Pokémon that have one of your two types. Dual Types are allowed, however. So, if you're doing a Flying/Psychic duotype challenge, you can use the Water/Flying type Gyarados and the Psychic/Fighting Gallade in the same team. You can use Pokemon not of your type if and only if they will evolve into a Pokemon of one of your types at some point, though you should evolve them at the first chance you get. Also, if you are doing Normal as one of your types, you may not use an Eevee and evolve it into a Jolteon, because it is no longer the correct type unless your other type is Electric.
    •You may use an emulator; just don't cheat on it.
    •Due to their rarity in earlier generations, three types are discouraged from being used: Ghost, Dragon, Ice. If you still want to use one of these types, you can trade eggs of your team, but stagger the hatching so it is similar to catching the Pokemon through the game (such as hatching one or two after each Gym).
    •If you cannot trade for whatever reason, and you're using one or both of the types previously mentioned, hacking a single low-level Pokémon of your type into your game will be allowed. This is the only instance where hacking will be tolerated.
    •The challenge for each game is completed when you defeat all of the main trainers (Champion in RBY, RSE, FRLG, and DPPt, Red in GSC, and HGSS, and N in BW).
    •It is never too late to sign up, you may always use the same types as someone else, and remember, HAVE FUN!!!
    •Ultimate Duotype Challenges are allowed here, which is the same as the Ultimate Monotype just with two types.

    You can post your progress here in this thread, being as detailed or as vague as you like. All participants will be listed. To sign up just post what types you will be using, what game you will be using, and if you want the team that you plan to use. Have fun!

    Poison/Bug Duotype Challenge

    Pokemon Black Version

    Update One

    --> The Trio Badge

    Today I began my grand adventure through the Unova region. I recieved a Tepig from Professor Juniper and battled my two closest friends Bianca and Cheren, and beat them both. I don't really like my Tepig because my favorite types are the Bug and Poison types and he is the Fire type. My idol is Burgh, who specializes in the Bug type and I someday wish to be like him, but that goal seems very far off. I also recieved the Xtransceiver, a Pokedex, and a Town Map before leaving Nuvema Town. On Route One I learned how to catch Pokemon, but didn't find any Bug or Poison type Pokemon. I moved on to Accumula Town where I met an odd person named N who challenged me to a battle, but I beat him fairly easily. I then traveled through Route Two where I got Running Shoes from Mom. Next I entered Striaton City, the home of the first Gym. Before challenging the Gym I went to the Dreamyard where a lady gave me a Pansage. As I was exploring the rest of Striaton City I met Cheren where I battled and beat him. After beating Cheren I felt strong enough to take on the Gym Leader. I walked into the Gym and was suprised to find three Gym Leaders: Chili, Cress, and Cilan. Luckily, I only had to battle on to recieve the Gym badge and I battled Cress. I defeated his Lillipup with Tepig then used Pansage to defeat his Panpour. After I beat him he awarded me with my first Gym Badge: the Trio Badge!

    The Basic Badge <--

    After getting the Trio Badge I met Fennel, a friend of Professor Juniper. She gabe me HM01 Cut and told me to go to the Dreamyard to collect some Dream Mist. I met Bianca at the Dreamyard and we both went to find the Dream Mist. However, we ran into Team Plasma and I had to defeat the grunts to keep them from doing harm. They left and we were able to collect the Dream Mist. We went back to Striaton City where Fennel gave me the C-Gear and a Pal Pad. Next I moved on to Route Three where I battled trainers and ran into Team Plasma again. I had to chase Team Plasma into Wellspring Cave because they stole a Pokemon from a little girl. In Wellspring Cave Cheren and I defeated the grunts to force them to give back the stolen Pokemon. After the fiasco with Team Plasma I was able to work my way through the rest of the route to get to Nacrene City, the home of the second Gym. I healed my Pokemon then headed for the Normal type Gym where I ran into N again. He battled me and I defeated him before I went into the Gym. I recieved a tour then went into the back of the museum where the actual Gym was. I found out that Fighting type Pokemon were super effective on the Normal type so I decided to find some Fighting type Pokemon so I could easily defeat the Gym. I went to the entrance of Pinwheel Forest where I found many Fighting type Pokemon. I caught two Sawk's and a Timburr. I went back to the Gym where I worked my way through the puzzle to the Gym Leader, Lenora. I beat her using my army of Fighting types and was awarded the Basic Badge.

    --> The Insect Badge

    The moment I beat Lenora we recieved news that Team Plasma had stolen the Dragon Skull from the museum. We rushed out of the museum where we ran into none other than Burgh, the Castelia City Gym Leader and my idol. We split up and I am decidied to go with Burgh to Pinwheel Forest to find Team Plasma. Before I leave Bianca gives me a Dowsing MCHN. Once I get into the forest Burgh and I split up. I battle a few trainers and Team Plasma members before finding wild Pokemon. The first Pokemon I ran into was a Venipede who I immediatley caught and added to my team. While training Venipede I ran into yet another Bug Pokemon, Sewaddle who I also caught and added to my team. After training them I continued through the forest. Eventually I beat all of Team Plasma and they gave the Dragon Skull back. While in Pinwheel Forest, Sewaddle evolved into a Swadloon and Venipede evolved into a Whirlipede. Next I ran across the Skyarrow Bridge to the huge Castelia City! There I battled trainers at the Battle Company before heading to the Gym. But as I try to enter Cheren and Burgh come out and tell me to follow them to the Prime Pier because of Team Plasma. We find out that Bianca's Pokemon has been stolen, and we meet a girl named Iris from the far-away Opelucid City. We follow Team Plasma and find there base where we battle the grunts before they give back Bianca's Munna. Now I am free to go to Burgh's Gym where I will face off against my idol! I get into the Gym and defeat all of the trainers there before deciding to head back to Pinwheel Forest to train some more. I trained Swadloon and Whirlipede a couple of levels and was surprised when Swadloon evolved into a Leavanny. After Swadloon evolved, I decided it was time to take on Burgh. I boxed Tepig, Pansage, my two Sawk's, and Timburr then walked over to the Gym. I beat Burgh in a fairly tough match before he gave my the Insect Badge!

    The Bolt Badge <--

    Right as I'm leaving the Gym Bianca calls me and asks me to meet her at the gate to Route Four. I head through the rest of Castelia City where we meet and have a battle. I defeat her fairly easily before I move on where I meet Cheren who also challenges me to a battle. After beating Cheren, Whirlipede evolves into a Scolipede before we get a call from Professor Juniper who tells us to meet her at the gate to Nimbassa City. I travel through the rest of the route and go to the Desert Resort where I get a Plume Fossil from a backpacker. After I'm done exploring I go north to Nimbassa City. Cheren and I meet Professor Juniper who gives us some Ultra Balls then sends us on our way. In Nimbasa City, I run into Team Plasma who are bullying an old man. After helping him out he gives me a Bicycle. While going through the city I meet a man who gives me HM04 Strength. I go to the two stadiums and battle some trainers then decide to go check out Route Sixteen, where I find a Trubbish. I added him to my team and trained him to the levels of Leavanny and Scolipede. After training Trubbish, I check out the rest of Nimbasa City and find N who challenges me, and I beat him. Next I go to the Theater where I meet Bianca, her dad, and the Gym Leader Elesa. Then I decide to take on Elesa, who I defeat before she awarded me with the Bolt Badge.

    --> The Quake Badge

    After getting the Bolt Badge I head towards Route Five. I met and battled Cheren and won, then met the Champion, Alder. I battled the trainers there, explored the route, then headed west where Elesa had the Driftveil Drawbidge lowered for me. I bicycled across the Drawbridge and arrived in Driftveil City. The first person I met was the Gym Leader Clay who told us that Team Plasma had come and asked me and Cheren to find them for him. Before searching for Team Plasma, I met a biker who challenged me to a rotation battle. Then I headed to Route Six and caught a Foongus. I leveld up Foongus in the Cold Storage where I also found Team Plasma. Cheren and I defeated them then headed back to Driftveil City to challenge the Gym. I battled Clay, and defeated him fairly easily with Leavanny, and Foongus, only having a little bit of trouble with his Excadrill. After beting him he awarded me with the Quake Badge.
