ok ive been breeding duskulls fo the past 2 days trying to get one with Bold nature and Calm Mind move. ive just got one now (even though his stats are not that great it seems *sob*)

i have got a fair few Calm natured ones (+Spc Def, - Att) this is similar to Bold (+ Def, - Att) now my Calm Duskulls have all got above average stats and now im wondering if my setup can run with a Calm Nature or only a Bold Nature will do?

ok here is the set i intend to use:

    Dusclops
    - Leftovers/Berry of some sort

    Calm Mind
    Ice Beam
    Rest
    Will-O-Wisp

Calm Mind for Spc Def and Spc Att boosts. Ice Beam to take advantage of teh boosts in Spc Att. Will-O-Wisp to screw up Physical Sweepers/annoy anyone else. Rest for recovery and to get rid of ailments.

im thinking a Bold nature would be best but as im playing ingame not NetBattle its going to take a while to get one witht he stats i really want to have.

thanks in advance guys and sorry for this seemingly useless post.

    thanks in advance

and it certainly works. Seen it done before. However, though it's much stronger in offensive power as well as defense, this Dusclops loses a lot of flexibility seeing how its only damaging move is ice beam.

well he is only really ment to act as my tank for my team so im not all that fussed about opnly having 1 damaging attack....i may oneday make one with toxic instead of Will-O-Wisp and just CM and rest till they die from toxic and Ice Beam when ive maxed CM.

BTW: for the EV's it was going to be: 252 HP 127 (i think thats it...or 128?) in both defences and if any leftover into Spc Att..not that it really matters anyways...

EDIT: ok im wondering what the differance will be with using a Bold vs Calm nature in regards to final level 100 stats assuming NO EV's are gained (leveled to level 100 by use of Rare Candies or Day Care). i think that this will help me make my final decision.

    thanks again all

Well, since I'm level-training my Dusclops on FR now, and I constantly use one on NB, here's my advice:

    Dusclops@Leftovers
EV: 252 HP, 129 Def, 129 Sp Def
    Nature: + Def/Sp Def, - Sp Att/Att/Speed
    Will-O-Wisp
    Mean Look/Double Team/Rest
    Confuse Ray/Attract/Rest
    Night Shade/Seismic Toss

Double Team + Pressure is a monumental PP waster (shame Dusclops can't learn Spite) especially with Dusclops' massive defences.

I personally use Will-O-Wisp/Confuse Ray/Seismic Toss/Mean Look, but I've replaced Mean Look with Rest recently. Pyrofusion definately works for Dusclops. Can even beat Tauntrados easily enough - as soon as you see Gyarados, spam Seismic Toss until he dies - he'll get at most one Dragon Dance in (he'll go Taunt/Dragon Dance/Taunt, which takes his health down to 20%, easily enough for Seismic Toss to finish), not enough to sweep Dusclops away.

thanks for that mate...thats what i thought at one point but considering i want to CM and conviniently i accidentally got Double Team on all my eggs i hatched i may just use this set on one of my Dusclops's:

    Will-o-Wisp
    Double Team
    Calm Mind
    Ice Beam

and the other what you have suggested maybe...ive not got 2 boxes full of the little buggers so im going to have some fun experimenting with different movesets over the next week or so.

    thanks again Toothache

No EVs? That's not such a great way to look at it, since you'll be EV training the thing.

    Calm
    HP: 284
    PhAt: 158
    PhDf: 328
    SpDf: 360
    Spd: 86

    Bold
    HP: 284
    PhAt: 158
    PhDf: 360
    SpDf: 328
    Spd: 86

Both are with the 129 PhDf, 129 SpDf, 252 HP EV spread. It's with optimum IVs, too (31). So yours will likely be lower by a bit.

Disagree, no rest = bad bad. Sure, you can DT, but what about AA which is like popular? Even if you WoW, they can still get shots in since you can't heal.

I've done without Rest for ages, and I can still work well with Dusclops, so I don't see Rest as completely necessary (but he does become a brick wall with Rest)

It'd a bad thing when you want to DT up though, because 6 valuable turns of DT can cause you death if you can't heal.

    Blah the physical dusclops moveset
    Dusclops[+SpDef,-SpAtt/adamant]@leftovers
    EVs - hp, SpDef, Att
    shadow ball
    earthquake/focus punch
    will-o-wisp
    rest

annoys and gets something done in the process......

u can also consider psychic over will-o-wisp or rest in CMclops but i dont really recommend it.

In the end i'm still a fan of the annoying clops.
