3rd Gen E group or G group????

    i'm playin a sapphire and i wanted to link contest with my friend.He is playing emerald and it promted to him e mode or g mode.I was'nt able to play the contest as i can select the 2 player on my sapphire(the cursor did not appear).Can someone tell me whats goin on?
     
    E group, also known as "Emerald mode", is for 2~4 Emerald carts only. Note that CPU players will fill space if you can't get 4 people.

    G group, also known as "Global mode", is for 4 Ruby/Saph/Emerald carts. For this mode, you need 4 players.
