After following DavidJCobb's Item Image Editing section of his Item Creation Tutorial (https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/258426) to the T, I can't figure out where I'm going wrong.
Whenever I view my image after inserting it with NSE it looks like this:

However, if I flip the image it looks like this:
    [PokeCommunity.com] Editing item sprites

Which is the way it SHOULD look.
Using "Item Image Editor" to repoint the sprite causes the ROM to crash. Gen 3 Tools won't let me repoint the image to the offset specified but will allow me to use the palette specified. Clearly, something is going wrong and I have no idea what. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

Why is the background not the green color at the beginning of the palette, which is going to be transparent in-game? Perhaps the image is too big because of this so it shows up like that. You could also try to insert the image in empty space again and change the item's image offset with a hex editor or a different item editing tool.
