    Hello!
I'm wondering if there is a way to edit the front and back sprites of Pokémon in roms that are NOT the vanilla base game. If I try opening hacks in sprite tools (such as nameless sprite editor), it only shows the sprites of the Pokémon that are in the base game.

My actual use case would be changing some assets in a fire red hack that includes all Pokémon up until gen8.

Thank you for any kind of assistance! 😊

The creator obviously repointed the sprites elsewhere in the ROM.

Without asking them directly, it'd be very difficult to find them, unfortunately

Thank you - I assumed this as well...
I'm still getting familiar with rom hacking. Can you help me understand how much trisl and error that would be? I could try starting with a different start pointer and drastically increase the amount of pokemon to look for in the sprite editor, until I hit gold somewhere? Or ist stuff like this off the table?

    Hnm.

Well now that I think, the pointers for the sprites may be in the same spot.

So if you go to the location where the pointers would be in a regular ROM you may be able to follow them.

Although since NSE is still showing the orig sprites the pointers table has likely also been moved.... I think at least.

    So a lot of T&E alas :(
