this guy i go to school with kept on telling me about how awesome his EV trained charizard in his red version (not firered) is today. i told him that i was pretty sure that EVs weren't around until ruby version, but i don't know that for a fact. can anybody back me up or tell me that i made a mistake? sorry if this' in the wrong place, i don't think i've ever posted in metal/color generatino games... (shame on me!)... so, i hope i'm right... if not, my credibility as homestead high school's resident pokemon master is ruined! *gasps audibly*

Meh...to lazy to apply a fancy font and color to my text...

EVs do not exist in RBY. You're right. RS is when EVs showed up first.

Tell your friend he's a first class lier and ask him if he's getting high because its impossible.

Another reason to have a simple question thread here:)

umm sorry to ber a moron ( i said moron to myself just so you wont think im telling youi that) whats an ev?

EV or EP stands for Effort Value for Effort Point. They're both the same thing. They were introduced in Ruby/Sapphire as a hidden value that affected a Pokemon's stats. Ask in the Pokemon GB Movesets & Strategies sub-forum for more information on this.
