Electivire EV's

If an Electivire has only 76 for defence, why not put some EV's there? Serebii and Smogon put none there but put them into its already huge attack stat. Anyone care to explain?

Vire shouldn't really be taking hits, simply put. He's supposed to outspeed everything else, preferably with a Motor Drive boost.

There's no point in giving it Defense EVs when it's going to die one way or another. You're better off giving it Attack EVs to make sure it takes care of whatever shows up. That's why you usually give a sweeper the 252/252 spread.
