Most of my posts, though I haven't in a while have been rom hacking questions, but now I'm playing instead. I recently decided to go for all gold symbols in the frontier, since I have never accomplished it, and I was wondering what teams and strategies people used for each building!

It's been quite a while since I did that and even then, I got as far as getting all silvers + gold in dome and tower before just falling out of it as it was a progress over several months. Before anything else, this is a huge time investment and requires a lot of patience. One of the things I did was funneling Pokemon and TMs into my Emerald from other versions. I also turned to breeding. From what I remember, the Pokemon I used mostly were Metagross, Salamence, Sceptile, Snorlax, Latios, Skarmory, Milotic, Breloom and Blissey. I had some others, but didn't use them as much as the ones I just listed helped me a lot more. Also note that I attempted the challenges with Pokemon at level 70, but there shouldn't be much of a difference if you decide to play on any other level.

Let me get Battle Factory out of the way first as I think it's best to tackle it before attempting Battle Tower as there is a glitch which will make the opponent's Pokemon stronger than yours if you have a high win streak at the tower. If you can make any kind of synergy between Pokemon, you're golden as the chances you'll encounter an opponent team with synergy is quite low. Also, I distinctly remember Snorlax being crazy good. And beware of Nidoking, that thing has Horn Drill, is not afraid to use it, it's scary and absolutely soul crushing if you lose your streak because it landed 2 hits in a row.
When challenging tower, arena, and dome go for hyper-offensive teams since battles don't really last long enough for stall teams to be effective (although it might provide better attempt consistency for Dome). Tower is pretty straight forward, Snorlax is amazing for Anabel, slap Earthquake/Shadow Ball/Brick Break and either Curse or Bulk Up on it and it absolutely destroys her on both difficulties.
For Dome you will need some luck with your predictions and might take you a couple of tries, but generally go for as much coverage as possible. Both of Tucker's teams are pretty straight forward, just hit them hard and beware that his Swampert on gold has mirror coat so if your grass type move doesn't take it down in 1 hit, it's probably over.
I still don't 100% understand arena's grading system so I just tend to go hyper-offensive and destroy the opponent before grading even becomes a factor. That being said, having something that can hit Shedinja is a must if you want to avoid this. I remember ending up losing to Greta because I couldn't hit it with Latios and subsequently lost in grading.
When it comes to Pyramid, hyper-offensive teams might find themselves worn-out by the time you reach the final floor, so consider bringing bulkier Pokemon. I don't recommend going out of your way to find items on later floors, but if your team has enough recovery, they can be of major help. I generally just picked them up if I stumbled upon them. It might be beneficial to explore lower floors more thoroughly as the items carry over as long as you keep the win streak. And save your Sacred Ashes... you'll need them. Also for silver Brandon, he gets absolutely wrecked by Spore/Focus Punch Breloom. This is a very time-consuming challenge and bad RNG with items and floor exits can really screw your run over.
Battle Palace is all about natures and if you can find the free time to assemble a Sassy nature team, go for it; otherwise just put something bulky like Milotic or Snorlax in and hope that RNG is on your side. It is an experience that consists of you either jumping from joy or tearing your hair out as you just watch both Pokemon do nothing. This took me many tries and I never attempted to continue the streak after obtaining the silver medal as it was just tiring and unnecessarily drawn out.
Finally, the Battle Pike... when they say "Your luck will be tested", they ain't joking. From that darn old man letting his Dusclops do whatever he wants to the annoying wild Pokemon rooms, this is an awful experience. Not only that, but Lucy's team is designed around the gimmick of being as annoying as possible. Skarmory with Taunt is amazing for Lucy, it outspeeds all of her Pokemon, Seviper can't do anything do it without Swagger, Shuckle straight up starts to use Struggle if you Taunt and can be easily taken care of with Toxic. For Milotic, bring whatever can hit it hard.

Overall, this is a task that requires a lot of time and dedication, but the feeling you get after getting a new medal is amazing. That is pretty much it regarding the way I tackled it. As I said, I never cleared it 100%, but after writing it, I might come back to it and see if I can get any new golden ones.

Thanks! And if you do go back to it, here's how Arena's grading works! The three categories are based on your use of offensive moves, the effectiveness of your moves, and you leftover health, so going hyper offensive is usually the way to go!
