Okay, listen. There have been a ton of threads on how to catch Latios/Latias. And if people were aware of the ridiculously easy way of catching him, they wouldn't have to make these silly posts. Since I haven't heard anyone mentioning this method, I'm going to tell you.

Shuko's (not really; I read it somewhere, but can't remember where) Method of Catching Latios/Latias

    Requirements:
    -Acro Bike
-At least 1 Defeat of the Elite 4
    -At least 1 Max Repel
-Something hard and heavy that you can place on a single button of your GameBoy:P

    Method:
Here's what you do. After you've defeated the E4, go to any patch of grass (really, it doesn't matter where) in Hoenn and use your Max Repel. Equip your Acro Bike. Then, place your heavy object on your Game Boy in such a way that it holds down only the B button. Watch the screen and make sure that your character is bunny hopping, but is remaining in the same spot. He is? Great. Now leave your Game Boy alone for an hour or two. No, I'm not kidding. Go away for a good long while, and then come back. Don't bother watching, 'cause this method usually takes time to work. Anyway, when you come back, you (Should) have run into Latios/Latias.

    Here's why it works:
Latias/Latios works in much the same way that the Legendary dogs did in G/S/C. He/She changes regions frequently, and will do so even if you stay in one region all the time. This method works on the theory that, if you wait in one region long enough, he/she'll eventually meander into it, and then you'll encounter the wily Pokemon. The Max Repel will keep other Pokemon away from you, and the bunny hopping simulates walking through the grass without wasting steps and exhausting your Max Repel.

So now you should have run into the elusive Latios/Latias. What happens next is up to you. I always used a master ball, because I hate chasing them around. But if you want to do it the hard way, just remember that once you've run into Latios/Latias, you can track him/her using the same method as the one used on the Legendary dogs - look at the area page for that Pokemon in your 'Dex. It'll show the current location of him/her. Of course, this is provided you don't make him/her faint. That's it, people. Happy hunting!

ok thanks. I will try these. But i have a question. I have a masterball on Colosseum can i trade it on to my sapphire game and how? If so then i can finally get my Latias. By using Shukos Way!

I'm not sure if Coloseum works this way, because I don't have it. But check to see if you can have a pokemon hold an item in colosseum. If it can, then just trade over a pokemon holding the master ball.

Have you tested this out? As I thought that Latias and Latios move when you change routes as well o_O

Oh yes, I've used it once for Latios and twice for Latias. The other Latios I hunted down the hard way. :/ Although you're right that they do move when you change areas, they also move if you wait in one area for long enough. That's why if you forgot to use repel, and kept running into weaker Pokemon instead, they (the legendary dogs, and now Latias/Latios) would sometimes move to an adjacent area on you even though you hadn't! I say if you're frustrated with chasing them, or they're the only ones you have yet to get before you fill your Pokedex, then use (my) method. Otherwise, you may prefer to do it the old fashioned way. You have a chance at catching more Shinies by doing random searching. :/

I was lazy tho, so I found this method online somewhere and tried it out. And it did indeed work. Several times. So there you go. :) Kinda takes the challenge out of it though, ne?

Well, if it's on the internet then it MUST be true! XD But, I'll add this to the FAQ, giving you credit though. You don't mind do you?

I don't mind its going to the FAQ, if that's what you mean. Just as long as it doesn't explicitly say that I wrote it, I'm cool with it. Because I didn't write it. Someone else did. :( I wish I could remember where I found that... Maybe it was on GameFaqs or something... *mumbles*

But yeah, I suppose this really does belong in the FAQ section. I just hope people actually READ it before they post more Lati@s threads. 9_9

XD Heh, I saw this somewhere too. I'm gonna try it as soon as I get that far on ruby.

the best thing is have a trapinch lv.40+ (with arena trap) or golbat (which uses mean look.) u need a lot of timer balls, ultra balls, and nest balls. (if u ve already used a master ball.

well i did as shuko said and i left him hoping in the same spot on route 117 for 3 hours and no Latias appeared. Then when i went to bed i left him hopping on route 121 overnight. ( 6 hours) And yet nothing again appeared. No latias to be seen anywahere. I have a masterball. And the pokemon in my team are. Level 35 Misdreavous And skarmory Level 35. I could be doing something wrong. Please do say what i am doing wrong.

Yeah, unfortunately, things like this happen from time to time. There are a lot of routes to choose from, and where it appears next is random anyway. Statistically speaking, there's a chance you'll never find him with my method. :( But it has worked for me, so I'm sure it will work for others too. And as far as the level of the pokemon is concerned, I never thought about that. Last time I used this method, some of the pokemon in my team were low-level at the time and some were really high. I had my lowest-level one out in front, because it was a shelgon I had been levelling up (I don't remember exactly what level he was at, tho). I figured it didn't matter, since I was going to use my Master ball anyway. Maybe you should try using a regular repel instead? I'm not sure. :(

Ok Thanks. Maybe you should tell us what route this worked for you? What route you used this ' Trick ' At?

That I don't remember. All I know is that it was NOT in the islands part. It was somewhere in the mainland.

Ok, Shuko your strategie of catching Lat@s has been edited into our RSE faq, so If you have any questions please go check in there for the help you need, then post a thread if it is a last resort ^^.
