There was a way... quite a few years ago.
Nintendo of America released a card that could be swipped by the E-Reader via the Magazine: Nintendo Power. However, it would probably be hard to find a card now. It can be re-used if I recall... considering all of my friends used it as well.

If you don't mind cheating, you could use an action replay to obtain the Eon Ticket and activate the flags to make the ticket work.
