    Good morning/evening all,

I'm relatively new to using Pokemon Essentials. I used to dabble with it before the v17 release but my experience with v17 is minimal. Using a fresh copy of v17.2 I added in the gen 6 Pokemon, items, etc. to set up mega evolution. The process for mega evolution works but no animation is displayed before the mega evolved Pokemon is displayed. I'm hoping that I'm just missing the animation image but after scrolling through the scripts I wasn't able to find anything. I tried copying some animations and renaming them to MegaEvolution.png and MegaEvolution2.png per a recommendation on google but it didn't work. Thank you in advance.

TLDR: Mega evolution works but animation isn't showing. Please help.

If you go into the animation editor through the debug menu, you can create a new animation, one called Common:MegaEvolution (Which plays before the sprite change) and one that plays after the sprite changed, called Common:MegaEvolution2.

There's one sheet I used called "Heal5" which was great because it had all sorts of swirly bits like the actual mega evolution animation.

I would recommend looking at some videos on how to use the animation editor if you're new to it, though. It can be quite confusing at first.

This was exactly what I needed to hear/see. Thank you Creg!
