    Sorta late but hey, not like it's been posted already.

    Soon there will be a Mamoswine given away through the Global Link (only for France in other words). It'll have the thick fat ability and be at level 34.

    This giveaway will be from October 20th to January 19th.

    Now for discussion!
    - If it was released on English games, would you get it?
    - Why do you think it's being distributed to French games only?
    - Is it worth having a Global Link giveaway for it?
     
    I say it was a nice idea.
    I love Swinub evolutions, so I would totally get Mamoswine!
    It was probably only available for French games only because France doesn't really get "only this country" promotions. US and Japan are mostly the only 2 ones. But that's just my opinion.

    Yeah, as long it has good moves.

    Probably because they are giving something to france than just japan and other countrys.
    Is it worth having a Global Link giveaway for it?
    Not really, because probably most people already have mamoswine.
     
    And now it's being released in Spain too, seems like a full European release is going to occur.
     
    I find it fair to have region based Pokemon; I use to have a problem with it but not anymore anyways:

    Nope, because I never used Mamoswine in a battle before

    Because they deserve it

    It is since Thick Fat would be very useful on a Mamoswine since most peoples first instinct of getting rid of one is using a fire type move

    France gets it because France is awesome. Duh. I don't see why they can't have their own Pokemon. It's in Spain now though, iirc. I heard something about it from an LPer. Either way, I don't use Dream World, so even if it came to the US, I wouldn't care for it.
     
    It is pretty cool that France and Spain get something. Like Basculin said, those countries don't really get their own pokemon, Europe in general really it seems.
     
    Well I don't like Mamoswine. :( But it is cool that they get a Pokemon. (And maybe they come with complimentary french toast!) And yeah they probably just wanted to give France something.

    Yes, Thick Fat's a useful ability, especially on an Ice-type! And I've never had a Mamoswine before, so it would be interesting to see how it is in battle.

    No idea, I don't understand how they decide where any of the events get distributed.

    Yeah, it would be good to use one. I've never really had chance to use one.

    Because they don't get many events, and most likely it will be traded and cloned so other people get the chance to get it aswell. Unless it's released else where.

    If this Mamoswine was released on English games, I would be more than happy to have it. Of course it would have to have some sort of signature move or trait, such as shininess, although I already have a randomly encountered shiny Mamoswine. ^___^
    I think it's being distributed to French games only because they need some unique events to their country. Another reason would be a historical one - woolly mammoth cave art has been found in Dordogne, France. Also, mammoths were believed to have inhabited Northern Spain.
    Personally, I don't think it's worth having a Global Link giveaway for it, as it seems quite useless. Although, it's more practical than manually distributing it, I suppose.
     
    I certainly would, and not just because it's an event, Thick Fat is a good ability for it. If I can remember now lots of other places are getting it as well, but still not Australia, although we might still get it. It sure is worth it, any event is good.
     
    It's been released or well, available in the UK for quite a while now, but I just haven't bothered going onto the Dream World and getting it. I haven't really bothered with the dream would for ages now.
     
    If it was on the English version then, hell yeah I would get it. But I would also be quite upset considering I had JUST breed two Piloswine to get a Swinub, raise it to become another Piloswine, then go to the move tutorer and waste a heart scale to get the move hidden power so it could become a Mamoswine, about 4 weeks ago... That would've been a big waste of my time, LOL.

    I think it was just given away to the French because countries other then the US and Japan don't get a whole lot of event Pokemon. I think it was just Nintendo being a couple of nice doodes. :)
