It's that time of the year again! In one month's time, the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Kiev, Ukraine after Jamala's 1944 won last year in Stockholm, Sweden!

I'm not spoiling myself so I can't discuss any songs yet, but I'm very excited! :D

Individual thoughts!

Spoiler:

Sweden: He's attractive, but I found the song somewhat boring. The chorus is a little catchy too.

Albania: The intro was a little slow for my liking, but it picked up, and Eurovision does like a powerful voice.

Italy: Upbeat backing, with a pretty good voice, definitely a contender!

Belarus: I found the Male's vocals overshadowed by the female's, it's still easy to listen to though.

Finland: I think I fell asleep?

Germany: Generic pop song, but a good generic pop song

Hungary: Very strong at the start, but became a tad repetitive over time.

Denmark: Strong vocals, but nothing overly spectacular

Austria: Attractive, Upbeat, Good enough vocals. Very strong submission.

Cyprus: Dark, Edgy & filled with sexual tension. This can be 3 good qualities or 3 bad qualities depending on how things go.

Netherlands: Pretty good vocal harmony, and a bit of a cliché eurovision message, but something about it makes me think it won't do overly well

Poland: SHE'S NAKED! She can really use sex appeal to garner votes truthfully, and the song was ok too i guess...

Croatia: Inspirational quote? check
Upbeat melody? check!
Uplifting lyrics? Check!
Parts not in English? CHECK!

Greece: Yeah it was up there, good vocals, classic video... AND THRN THEY RUINED IT WITH HASHTAGS.

Romania: I'm really sorry, but I couldn't listen for very long. What I assume was yodelling, over some dodgy Rapping?

Australia: He's got a good voice, sure, but I spent most of my time thinking about the eyEBROws.

Belgium: Being brutally honest, either the song didn't fit her voice, or her voice didn't fit the song:/. A little lackluster.

Azerbaijan: Gradually built up the power, without being boring, fairly attractive & decent vocals.

Malta: Ah yes, the "I'll get over this breakup" song! Like usual it has decent vocals, but it's not my particular favourite...

FYROM: Yay! Something with a faster tempo! While the vocals weren't the best I've seen, I found they complimented the atmosphere of the song, making for a nice experience.

Serbia: Decent song, but not particularly memorable, perhaps could have been improved with a tempo change?

Portugal: Looked like they were trying to go for a 'classic' feel, but his voice just doesn't do anything for me.

France: I suppose it's better than the moustache one the did a couple years ago?

Czech Republic: Outside of the multitude of shirtless men, there wasn't much to talk about with this.

UK: A bland ballad with little substance, probably gets a few votes, but nothing spectacular, especially after brexit.

Georgia: Ballads about Peace often perform well. It bored me a little though.

Norway: It had a nice beat & tempo which made it quite danceable.

Switzerland: She's got a nice voice, and I enjoyed the song, despite having similarities to others.

San Marino: San Marino surprised me, The switching vocals added to the 'spirit' of the song, and it created a mood reminiscent of noughties dance.

Montenegro: I think this may be the campest thing I've seen this year! Super flamboyant, Super fun, without detracting from the overall song.

Israel: A fun summery vibe suits this song, but the vocals were a bit subpar.

Latvia: The higher parts were very pleasant, but the rest lacked anything outstanding

Moldova: Bright song, with a fun backing... until they brought the brass instruments.

Ireland: How old is he? I can see him getting votes if he's younger, but otherwise, It wasn't Ireland's finest.

Iceland: Unfortunately, even with strongish vocals, it's a weak entry.

Bulgaria: Slow, and in a boring way, this song just fails to deliver. The 'higher' parts weren't particularly good either

Spain: With little substance, it seems to be a typical surfing song, It was upbeat, while still managing to be boring.

Russia: I hate to say this, but Russia's gone the clever route. I don't think they chose her for her voice, but rather for the sympathy vote from her disability.

Lithuania: bland bland BLAND! Truth be told, there wasn't much wrong with her voice, maybe because the backing instruments were louder than she was?

Estonia: Quite bluntly, I can't deal with the fact that them saying their love was like Romeo & Juliet was a good thing.

Armenia: The words in this peice lacked definition, leading to a boring experience.

Slovenia: Good vocals and who couldn't love those shoulder pads?

Ukraine: Good vocals, good instrumental, but the theme of peace doesn't fit with it.
