5th Gen EV training

    So ive known about ev training for a while and only recently started doing it because I thought it was too much work. now I am ev training a level 5 vullaby I bred. In all the videos ive watched they all say start by giving the pokemon 10 vitamins of whatever stat your trying to increase. So I gave my vullaby 10 zincs and its special defense only went up by 2. I think im doing something wrong but im not sure. Is it normal that the special defense went up only by 2 or is there something I didnt do?
