3rd Gen EXP. Share Question

Sorry if I put this in the wrong forum, but this question is hard to pin down.

EXP. Share is obviously a useful item, but I've heard from some people that it lessens the stats gained when levelling, even though other sources tell me the EXP Share takes Effort Values into account when its holder levels up. Is there anyone who can set the record straight?

Okay, what Exp Share does is give the Poke half of the earned Exp points in battle, regardless as to whether it battled or not. It also gives the SAME amount of EV points earned in battle, regardless as to whether it battled or not. So, if your Lv5 Bagon is holding an Exp Share and your Lv50 Swampert battles and defeats a Lv50 Golem, your Bagon will get half of the total Exp points that Swampert earned in the battle and it will also earn 3 Def EV points.

ive never heard of that before, i think you mean that it lessens the exp gained.

I am pretty sure that exp share does not give ev values too, otherwise, train everything else up with it!
