Failure to Compress Game Data

    Hi all. So recently I updated my game to Essentials 17.2 because my previous version was refusing to compress. After finally updating everything, I tried many times to compress, and yet I'm still met with "failed to compress game data." I've tried all of the following:

    • remove audio folder
    • remove graphics folder
    • compile each time prior to compression
    • completely replaced PBS folder with an Essentials Original PBS folder
    • exported to a different folder
    and more. The compression works up until the PBS folder (to be exact, it stops right upon gif.dll). I have noticed that any files names with alpha and omega symbols will cause the compression to fail?an easy fix. However, there are no unordinary symbols in the PBS folder besides the ~$okemon file, which I've tried deleting to no avail. Exporting the Essential's Original game does work, as long as I delete an alpha symbol that's snuck in there.

    Here is an image of what's included in the folder. Maybe there's a file that doesn't need to be there, but chances are I've already tried deleting it. This is not in alphabetical order.
    Spoiler:

    Other threads regarding this issue have not helped, so I'm beginning to get worried. It'd be nice to get this working. Thanks!

    EDIT: Solved it. There was a hidden file called "Icon?" right after gif.dll. Didn't know where it came from and I couldn't open it whatsoever. Literally the only reason I found it is because I was thinking maybe the program kept compressing an incomplete, invisible duplicate on my desktop each time. Tried looking for those files and instead found "Icon?". There should be a tv show called My Game Shouldn't Be Alive ;_;
