    [PokeCommunity.com] Fake Games :O

I got this at the flea market a long time ago. I think it's a ROM hack that they just put on a cartridge. But it's basically just fire red with a few differences. It can trade and battle with other games and it used to be able to save but it stopped saving somewhere along the way.

Now, there is a flea market near my house that sells a bunch of games like this one. Some work pretty well, some don't. The main ones I've seen are Chaos Black, Quartz, Naranja, and Some sort of Lugia version.

Are these fake games very common or is it just where I live? And have you ever seen some of the really good hacks get turned into fake cartridges?

    Discuss :)

It usually depends on the location. For example, while I lived in China, every single game was a bootleg, many of them are actually ROM hacks that have been uploaded online and you can download them free of charge. This is why you frequently see the "If you bought this, you have been ripped off" warnings in several of PC's ROM hacks.

I put that warning on my rom hack, but i was thinking maybe i didnt need to. Because its normally the same 4 fakes in my area. Of course occasionally they have bootlegs of real games as well.
