3rd Gen FAQ Update!- Discussion: Read now!

Well... since Kairi, Arcanine, Itsybitsyspider and Jedi_Amara created that FAQ ancient amount of time ago, it's not updated and it's quite out of date in comparison to the needs of the Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire board today.

So, now that summer is here, I can have time to pay more attention to the forum. I'm hereby asking the RS forum members a few things...

What questions do you want the FAQ to cover?

So, if you have any comments/opinions about how we should update this FAQ, please post it here!

If you're interested in writing parts of the update of the FAQ, you can also post it here! All submitted guides for the FAQ update are to meet the requirements set by the Pokemon Community Technical Institute. Refer to the tech inst. forum regarding what the requirements are. And no making part of the guide WILL NOT help you in being promoted. Either help out of a heart of charity, or go elsewhere to look for promotions.

When Frosty said FAQ, I think he meant for Ruby/Sapphire, not how the PC site works.

I'll help u write it, Frosty. I'm on here way to much and have nothing better 2 do now that summer is here and exams r over.

List of stuff that need guides on so far:

-cheating device hardware: upgrade guide (Done already)

-guides on handling all the legendaries in the game (some of them are already covered in the current guide, but not all) *major*

-explanation on the 3 forms of Deoxys

-what is EV/personality bonus?

-what is hidden power?


So yeah... the above stuff is in need of guides... We'll certainly greatly appreciate it if any members can help. And just to make boring things slightly interesting...

Benefits of helping Frosty out in this guide:

-for every one guide you write, you can ask Frosty ONCE for a Blissey, Skarmory or Weezing moveset! XD;; ._.;;

-something to write in your "PokeCommunity Resume" in the future, if you come across the need of a PC-Resume... you can now write "-have helped a moderator is assembling a spectacular FAQ in the past, and have experiences in assisting moderators in taking care of the RS forum" XD

By handling, do you mean capturing them or movesets/strategy stuff?

Most of the material covered in those guides also applies to FireRed and LeafGreen. If this information was not going to be stickied in the FireRed and LeafGreen subfourm, it should be (upon completion).

I mean just capturing the legendaries... You know how we got 3 Latios/Latias threads in the last 2 weeks? -_-; Yeah might as well make a guide for capturing the rest of the legendaries and kill those annoying "how come Latios is in Route 132, and sometimes on Route 139?" type of things...

Regarding making this FAQ as part of FRLG's as well, I'll have to PM the FRLG mods about it and see if they're interested.

lol... you must be terribly bored to be writing a total of 5 FAQs in one night ;p but I certainly appreciate it ^-^

I can't think of much either... that's why I made this thread to see what else we need to begin with O.o;

Yeah pretty much. I still have half an hour left to kill before South Park is on.

Let's see, legendaries, Deoxys, EV and natures, Hidden Power, upgrading. What else can I type up? Pokeblocks and berries? Eh, might as well.

EDIT: Done...can't think of anything else to type. Even if I did, I wouldn't type it right now. Fingers are going stiff.

R u goin to use my upgrading guide (if so, i can edit it to take out the slang). I'll write the Hidden Power guide, but my computers actin funny, so it may be a few days (a repair guy's comin on Friday, so i'll probably do it that night). hm................a one-of-a-kind Skarmory moveset from Frosty himself, thats a reward in itself!

He never said it would be a GOOD moveset. For all you know, he could just give us Blizzard, Fire Blast, Thunder, and Hydro Pump (although I dont think any Pokemon can learn all 4 of those attacks besides Mew and Mewtwo)

true true true................ Frosty, if u do that i will be SOOOOOO mad! Even if he does give a bad one, HelishHades gave me a great one that really works, so i'll just keep that.

-Mirage Island!


And what I meant by a moveset regarding them is... one that's operational/standard... ._.; And there is no Pokemon even Mew and Mewtwo who can learn such a moveset (both of them are lacking hydro pump), besides the almighty Smeragle.

Plus... stop thinking that I'm like so almighty Pokemon-god-of-battling... Demonchaos916 has a higher winning percentage (60%) than me (52%) already, so don't treat a moveset from me like gold or something...

Mirage Island??? I thought you said Southern Island, eh whatever, I'll do both if I can find out anything on mirage.

EDIT: How long is this FAQ gonna be? Or how long so far? As for the win percentages, you've probably played hundreds of games, I've only played 65 games

The FAQ has been successfully updated, at a total length of 27000~28000 characters! (meaning, it exceeded the maximum character limit XD) So check the FAQ first before asking any questions as we got a LOT of stuff added!

Big thanks to Demonchaos916 who wrote 70% of the entire FAQ, along with HellishHades who wrote a very detailed guide regarding PAR v3. Upgrade FAQ. And of course a thank to me who just copied and pasted XD
