There used to be a thread like this (also by me) but it's long gone, so here is another. Basically a simple question, which is your favourite and least favourite Pokemon game and why? It can pretty much be any of the games, inclusive of spin-offs.

Favourite game? A tie between Plat and HG. Yep, 2 of my first games. HG because it was the first game I ever defeated the champion of, and in general I find it to be great to play as well. I also have a soft spot for Plat as it was the first game I purchased (but I didn't complete it on the first try) and I also have a lot of fun playing it as well. Both are amazing games, and I can't decide which one I like more.

Least favourite game? Rumble World. I'm going to try and keep my composure here....but I absolutely FUCKING DESPISE Rumble World. It's terrible. It's so terrible, stupid, and worthless I can't imagine how anybody can play through this whole pile of flaming garbage or let alone like it. At least I could actually play throughout Black 2 as well as understand why some people like it(unless they randomly call it to be flawless without proper reasoning). Rumble World? No. Poor graphics, weird concept, no story, and worst of all, atrocious gameplay. I want to describe more, but I think I'd be wasting my time. I never liked the Rumble series in the first place, but now I completely shun from it now. Rumble World just sucks.

So what is your fav and least fav game?

Hmm, so I haven't played many spinoffs so I'll just leave them out I suppose.

    Favorite: Black and White 2
I never thought anything would ever trump Emerald, but man did BW2 win me over. The game has so much detail put into it, the characters have actual personalities for once, the story is very interesting. It also has my favorite graphics and music of all the games, as well as Unova being probably my favorite region. Seasons and a few other great features. There's lots to love imo.

    Least favorite: X and Y
Ew. I'll try to keep this short, because I can sense a rant coming. After Gen 5 set such a high bar, I didn't expect these games to be quite as good, but man were they a huge letdown. So many amazing features from B/W/2 were scrapped, the characters went back to being boring and flat, too many rivals, I didn't really like the use of the 3D, especially in the battle scene, the story was a joke, and so many more things. :(

Favourite game - B/W/2. I just love gen 5. The story line, the characters, the development of those characters over the two games, N, the gym designs... I could go on lol.

Least favourite - Tough call between D/P and Ranger. D/P because it's story is lacking, the starters are my least favourites. The difficulty curve was very challenging but it was let down by its flaws and didn't even tie up the loose plot threads at the end. Like... Cyrus throws some threats at you then just vanishes? At least in Platinum you can assume he's stuck in the distortion world. Ranger - I only played the first one and I just can't stand the game play at all. I got way too frustrated with it and it put me off the series as a whole.

Favourite Game - White 2 - What's this? A Pokemon game with a great list of Pokemon to catch, a genuinely evil villain and story continuity from the first game. It also has for me the best Elite Four in the series as well as my favourite graphics in the series. The post game is also impressive with the White Treehollow and Pokemon World Tournament and bonus bosses in Alder and a rebattleable Cynthia making it the best post-game in the series.

It's not perfect however for some reason Pikachu cannot be caught in the games and Hugh is a poorly defined rival. There is also no Pokeradar. However White 2 for me is still the best game in the series.

Least Favourite - Pearl - The slow pacing of these games really hurt as did the poor Pokedex which among various oddities had only two fire types. The rival Barry was annoying and whilst the Gym Leader line up is by and large good having Volkner as the last Gym was very strange. He was ridiculously easy. However these games I find to be the easiest in the series.

The Elite Four were instantly forgettable and whilst Cynthia was a great Champion and some of the Pokemon introduced in this Gen were excellent (Roserade and Garchomp come immediately to mind) for me Pearl is the worst game in the series.

Favourite Game - Has to be Emerald, I just love this game to pieces and spent hundreds of hours playing it as a kid. I loved the region, the Pokemon that inhabited it and the story, not to mention the characters (I'll never forget sailing across to Dewford Town on Mr Briney's boat). I have serious nostalgia for this game and I think it'll not only be my favourite Pokemon game, but my favourite game in general for years to come.

Least Favourite Game - Diamond/Pearl. I didn't appreciate these games as much as I do now when I first played them but nevertheless they are still my least favourite. The gameplay is ridiculously slow and the region itself was kinda bland. Overall, I'm not overly ecstatic about the Pokemon either and although these games weren't necessarily really bad, they're my least favourite.

I'm surprised to see a lot of praise for BW2 here. To me it was...eh, not great, but no garbage either. Just so-so. I can understand why it can be liked though.

    Least favorite: X and Y

I forgot to say this in my first post but I think XY is overhated. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, I mean yeah the characters and plot were relatively lackluster, but everything else about it worked fine for me. Though again I can see how it might've seemed to be a step down from the previous gen, but XY itself was ok to me. But we all have different opinions.

Well I've never played the whole Ranger series just the 2nd and 3rd ones. 3rd one didn't complete as it felt long and 2nd was stuck on the part where I was eating with that group thing I forgot. Their good I guess but PMD outshines it as the better spin off series IMO
