Hello everyone! Hopefully this is in the right section. I'm currently searching for Feebas in Emerald and just wanted to know a few questions of your own personal stories and experiences.

How long did it take you to find Feebas (approximately)?
How much of Route 119 did you cover before finding it?
Which rod did you use? Found more effective?
Have you evolved it into Milotic yet?
Did you ever catch a shiny Feebas?
Found something unusual while searching (shiny Pokemon found are acceptable)?
How thrilled were you when you found/caught it?
Did you ever (want to) give up?

Any other stories or experiences welcomed :D !

    My current status:

COMPLETE! Now looking for Shiny version!

    I'll answer my own questions!

How long did it take you to find Feebas (approximately)?
    5 hours >_>

How much of Route 119 did you cover before finding it?
Approximately 60-100 tiles (3 times EACH)

Which rod did you use? Found more effective?
I used Super Rod but like the Old Rod better for capturing multiple Feebas

Have you evolved it into Milotic yet?
    No!

Did you ever catch a shiny Feebas?
Yes but mindless brother erased my saved file!

Found something unusual while searching (shiny Pokemon found are acceptable)?
Level 45 Carvanha? I caught it too :D

How thrilled were you when you found/caught it?
I couldn't breathe and felt as if it was a dream!

Did you ever (want to) give up?
Yes, twice. I wanted to but didn't.

Ahh, I have never caught that little fish.. never seen a wild one either.. I would love to have one...

Oh yes, do you want me to go find a webbie that can help you guys with your feebas problems???

How long did it take you to find Feebas (approximately)?
Well, it took me three attempts to find it, each of the attempts taking between 1 and 2 hours... so around 3-4 hours in total.

How much of Route 119 did you cover before finding it?
I didn't cover a huge amount. I think that, between my three attempts, the farthest down the river I ever got was a little ways past that bridge in the picture you posted. If I remember correctly, I made it almost to that large bend in the river. It just took a long time because I had to fish around 5 times in each tile.

Which rod did you use? Found more effective?
I used the Super Rod. I don't know if any one rod is more effective than the others, but I chose the Super Rod because the only other Pokemon that will appear with that rod is Carvanha.

Have you evolved it into Milotic yet?
Yes, I've evolved it into Milotic. It took a while to find a Feebas with a nature that would enhance Beauty, though. I had to keep going back to the same tile and fishing over and over. Let's just say I have quite a few Feebas kicking around in my PC now...

Did you ever catch a shiny Feebas?
    Sadly, no...

Found something unusual while searching (shiny Pokemon found are acceptable)?
Nothing out of the ordinary. Just huge amounts of Carvanha. It was pretty much a normal fishing experience for me.

How thrilled were you when you found/caught it?
Pretty thrilled. I had given up on two attempts before, and on my third attempt, I ran into a Feebas before even making it over the first waterfall. I was pretty surprised how quickly I ran into it.

Did you ever (want to) give up?
Yes... and I did end up giving up on two occasions. If I hadn't decided to make a third shot at it, I never would have caught it eventually.

Once you do hit one of the 6 Feebas-producing tiles on the route, you'll find that Feebas appear very frequently there. That's why, when I was searching for Feebas, I fished on each tile only until 5 wild Pokemon had appeared. I figured that if Feebas didn't appear within the first 5 wild Pokemon, it wouldn't appear at all on that tile. My original plan had involved fishing up around 6-10 wild Pokemon, but I quickly cut back due to the huge amount of time it wasted. I think that 4 or 5 wild Pokemon is a good amount of Pokemon to fish up on each tile before continuing on.

I usually do 3 times with Super rod. The likelihood of a Feebas appearing on it's tile is 60%+. Fishing 3 times should generally identify if the tile contains Feebas or not.

I also find that using the Super Rod is annoying because of the amounts that you have to snag (5-6). With old rod, it's usually once but with it, you can catch 4 Pokemon (including Feebas, Tentacool, Magikarp and...there's another that slips my mind).

Question: If I don't find any in the area between the waterfall and rocks at the end of the river, do you recommend I go up the waterfall or after the rocks?

How long did it take you to find Feebas (approximately)?
About half an hour ^^; I was pretty lucky...

How much of Route 119 did you cover before finding it?
One space ;) I didn't know the special stuff you had to do to capture it, so I just went online and looked up its location. It listed one specific spot, which I went to and after some fishing, I found the little Pokemon. Lucky me again.

Which rod did you use? Found more effective?
    Super. Always

Have you evolved it into Milotic yet?
I did within the day I caught it.

Did you ever catch a shiny Feebas?
    Nope. Never even saw one.

Found something unusual while searching (shiny Pokemon found are acceptable)?
    Nuh-uh

How thrilled were you when you found/caught it?
Back then I thought it was just a normal Pokemon, so to answer your question: no.

Did you ever (want to) give up?
I got bored sometimes, but this was back during the "capture all Pokemon!" days of my Sapphire, so it was the only thing to keep me busy.

How long did it take you to find Feebas (approximately)?
I didn't dedicate one session to catching the cheese fish, I did it in my leisure time, so on that one session it appeared I think I was into half an hour.

How much of Route 119 did you cover before finding it?
From the waterfall to a few tiles south of the land with steps.

Which rod did you use? Found more effective?
Super rod, because that's the only rod I use apart from old rod.

Have you evolved it into Milotic yet?
Yes. Easier than I thought, I was 11 at the time so I didn't give a damn about natures and the like, just blended my berries and got my Milotic.

Did you ever catch a shiny Feebas?
    No

Found something unusual while searching (shiny Pokemon found are acceptable)?
    Tons of Carvarna, how unusual.

How thrilled were you when you found/caught it?
Pretty excited. I was also glad that it did not take long to find a female, so I could go breeding crazy. =D

Did you ever (want to) give up?
I did it very leisurely, so in my spare time I would cover a certain amount, keep a record of the tiles I've checked, and switched off for a day or so. That way I didn't frustrate myself from end to end.
