As I was brainstorming for one of my pokemon, a regional variant of Oddish based on sundew, I came up with a new ability and moves for it to tie into its new semi-aquatic lifestyle in the marches and swamplands. But I don't know if the ability I came up with is too overpowered, so I figured that I might as well get some feedback.
For context, like other regional forms the base-stats haven't changed but this Oddish-line is now Grass/Water (with Bellossom being Grass/Dark but she isn't relevant to this discussion).
For those curious to see what they look like, here's a sketch (ignore the stuff I had written down on the paper, it was an earlier draft):
The main thing that I knew that I wanted to address with this version was its new weakness to Poison, which didn't really fit with the vision I had for it. But then I thought about how you can dilute acids into water and an idea sprung to mind:
Dilution - Powers up Water- and Poison-moves when hit by a Poison-move
The idea being that the poison is being diluted by the water that the pokemon naturally absorbs and in the process causing the poison to be added to its water-attacks which makes them stronger alongside the poison-moves it naturally has. They even has a new move called Tainted Water that is designed to work with this since it is a weaker Water/Poison-equivalent of Flying Press.
The thing that I am unsure about is whether it should negate Poison entirely, so like a poison-version of Flash Fire, or whether it should just lessen the damage that Poison-attacks cause, so more like Heatproof but with a buffing-element attached.
