[ASM & Hex✓] Finding surf offset in hex?[Emerald]

    And if anyone wants to do this for FR, I found this by first:
    Looked for the hex version of checkattack 0x39 in the rom.
    ( I tried serching for checkattack 39 in converting it into Hex
    636865636b61747461636b2030783339 (checkattack 0x39)

    AND/OR

    20636865636b61747461636b203339 (checkattack 39)
    Found the script (surf script), and got the offset.
    Made it a pointer, looked for it in the rom, then I noticed that close to it, it had a flag, the fifth gym flag, so as a test I tried to change it to the first gym flag, and it worked

    I am trying to learn how to search for things in hex did the above on a clean Emerald Rom search for checkattack had zero results.

    Any idea why I can't find it? The OP of the quote seems to have found it without issue.
