Self-explanatory - which is the better? Note that STAB damage is applicable as I intend to teach one to a fire Pokemon.

Depends. On a physical sweeping fire type, Overheat. On just a regular fire mon, I'd go FT over FB. On a nonSTAB special sweeper, FB.

I'm thinking along the lines of Charizard

    SAY WHAT!?!?!

    Charizard. I like.

The least used Zard, for good reason too =(. I mean, who can actually just Belly Drum out in the open? You Drum, Dactyl or Jolteon OHKO's you, Crobat confuses you, you smack yourself and faint...

I don't like drum without sub. Else, I'd go with Swords dance. And never dragon dance, since if I wanted a dancer, I'd go with a dragon to begin with.

Its least used because many do not know when or how to use it. =/

That one play against a special mon, water if the sunlights out, and then you Drum, they hit, preferably taking you to the Salac Zone, then feel free to sweep.

*Laughs* with that kind of Defence you will faint for sure xD! 196 and 206 is nothing to any Pokemon that has decent Atk/Sp.Atk.

notice the SUN factor, which halves water attacks. than the special defense on my zard is around high 260's. it works. I have done it before.

When did I say Water Pokemon would attack you? And with no Speed, your done. Salac kicks in and your still slower than Jolteon =D! Dactly is still all over you even after +Speed and +Attack =D!

Generally I do not throw Zard into play at random times. It is generally better to time your moves and actions at good times, instead of acting recklessly with certain pokemon.

I'm not saying you done have common sence etc. Its just that I see the battle going like this.

    Shuckle sends out Charizard
    Spike sends out Breloom.

    Charizard uses Belly Drum.
    Spike sends out Aerodactyl.

    Shuckle: Dammit!
    Spike: w00t!

I generally dont run into Aero's that much, and when they do they anhialate my entire team because its grass and fire. Now on other teams that zard may be on, there are generally aero counters, and they generally include water types, and what? they switch to jolt? just use swampert.

actually I think drumming against Breloom is very dangerous. Spore = gg.

Also, as long as Zard has at least say, 270 speed, it outspeeds Jolt/Aero after salac anyhow :o
