Fire or Water?

It just seems so unfair for fire types...
Water: weakness -> grass, electric (all Sp.Attack)
Fire: weakness -> water (Sp.Attack), ground (Attack), rock (Attack)

Water types need more physical weaknesses.
 
Aside from the fact the Water type is, most obviously, powerful against the Fire type, here are my stupid reasons for preferring Water:

x Water attacks can be quite handy in Cute/Beauty contests [I prefer Contests to battling]
x Fire Pok?mon look... odd o_O

Besides, I always was frightened of fire.
