Firered 386 Saving problem

    I have the ROM for Firered 386 (where all 386 Pokemon are catchable) and I can't use the in-game save feature. I've tried changing the Save Type to 128K and that hasn't solved it. I don't want to use the VBA save feature because then the game breaks after the Elite 4.

    Any ideas on how to fix this?
