2nd Gen FireRed / LeafGreen - Compatibilities?

Is it possible to trade between all the other games with these remakes? Also can you get shiny pokemon in them?

You can trade between FR/LG, R/S/E, Col/XD, and one way transfer to D/P

.........uh....i missed FR n LG, i never kinder got into it... but i wouldnt expect you can trade anywhere except D/P

erm, i read somewhere that you can trade between the versions, but you have to do it a certain way not like the original way (link cable). i read to do this you have to insert the fr/lg cart, go to a certain place, catch the pokemon you want themself in d/p and also you can only trade 6 across. :S i dont get this, can anybody shed light on this for me? how can you trade across versions? and are the pokemon you catch the same pokemon that you trained yourself?

Since you posted this in the Metal and Colour Generation forum, I assume you mean from G/S/C to FR/LG, right? In that case no, you cannot trade from Gen II to Gen III, as I believe it has something to do with the format of data.
