First three Pokémon movies coming to Blu-ray in the US

In case you haven't heard, Warner Bros., through VIZ Media, will be releasing the first three Pokémon movies on Region A Blu-ray in their 4Kids English dub forms in the US.

There are a few bummers to this-the movies will only feature 2.0 stereo lossy audio, and little to no extras (even the Pikachu shorts are apparently omitted).
These movies, though, will be in in their remastered high definition and presented in their original widescreen form (as opposed to the 4:3 pan and scan of all previous Warner DVD releases in the US).

Amazon is taking pre-orders of the Blu-ray set, list priced at $39.99. The Blu-ray release date will be February 9. DVD versions will be released as well, using the same remastered source (but downconverted to SD).

I will say, despite the shortcomings, that I'm really happy that there finally will be widescreen disc releases of these Pokémon movies, but, I don't know if I'll be able to find the Blu-rays anywhere when they're released (limited edition, probably being sold only by online retailers.)

Oh thank Arceus... maybe this will kill the price of the 1st movie. Which can be insane at times. I have most movies up to all Hoenn, but I don't have the 1st or 3rd yet. And I would love to have Pokemon 2000 on Blu-Ray.

Thank you for posting this, because I didn't know.
