I'm developing a Marowak just for the purpose of capturing Pokemon easily (He knows Screech and False Swipe) and along the way of leveling him up I've noticed something.

With a Thick Club, Marowak is pretty darn good. I tested attacking the same Pokemon with and without the Thick Club and it seems like it doubles his Attack. He has Impish nature so his already high Defense is a bit higher.
And with the Rock Head ability and Double-Edge it just adds to the mayham.

My Marowak hasn't even been EV trained properly and only had a few +Atk and +Def Vitamins used on it, and it's moveset is mostly for capturing Pokemon.. and it's still really good.

Update: As an added bonus, I just noticed Marowak has a pretty good selection of TMs and Move Tutors from which to learn from. Some decent Phys Atk moves he can learn are Focus Punch, Iron Tail, Earthquake, Aerial Ace, and Rock Slide.

Long story short: Sally forth young lads and lasses, get a Marowak and a Thick Club (randomly found on wild Cubone or Marowak), and have some fun.

P.S. My Marowaks nickname is Skull*$#%. I still laugh when I see it... never gets old. (if you can't figure out what's been bleeped out, don't ask)

Anyways, yes. Thick club doubles Marowak and Cubones' attack. back in GSC, this was restricted by the 999/1024 ceiling, so you'd need a 13DV marowak in attack or else swords dancing would overroll the attack. Since that's gone in RS, Marowak can do as it pleases with its attack power.

I have a marowak at lv100 in FR and it is a monster at attacking. I use it together with my gengar in double battles, and earthquake+STAB+maxed attack+thick club=total destruction. It basically shatters the opponent straight away, and gengar just picks them off then. I think Marowak is very under-rated.

BP some speed and a stage or two of attack to Marowak. Just don't do it in the presence of a water Pokemon.

I used to use a Marowak but I got bored it it. A Marowak with Thick Club, Adamant nature, 31 Attack IVs, and 252 Attack EVs will have a good 500 something attack power in battle.
