It's only a small problem & it's not a big deal but.. Whenever I visit PC, my computer always freezes for about 10 seconds, and this happens every time regardless on what I have running etc. It hasn't happened on any other site so far, I've flushed my browser, reinstalled, cleared cookies & pretty much anything else I can think of.

Running on Chrome, Windows 7 64-bit.

Does anyone know why the might be happening? Thanks!

The prob is that you downloaded Lotsa things..
    Delete alot of them..

any specific theme you are using when this happens? does the whole pc 'freeze' or just the browser?

yeah, this happens to me too. it doesnt bother me, but i have vista instead of 7. i use the compressed/condensed (not sure what word) stand nexus theme, if that helps. oh, and its my whole pc that freezes. i usually just hit cntrl+alt+del to start task manager. it just seems to work for me.

Show us a picture so we can see what is happening? My friend gets the same problem on another forum so now I know how it looks and feels like.

How can you take a picture of something freezing? It is going to look the same as if it was working...

Anyway, to give you a bit of better direction, Rukario, it happens to me on Google Chrome on The Stand Nexus theme and only when I scroll all the way down on the main page to the "who's online" part.

For me, the browser freezes for a few seconds, then becomes responsive again.

If it happens on me, I'd just either wait or kill the page. I've experienced and seen two types of a browser freezing on me and with my computer, with too many tabs open, everything completely freezes.

    ^, I didn't know or realize that wouldn't work.

testing in nexus using chrome. I see nothing strange.. perhaps is slow loading javascript. are you running the latest version of the browser?
when you load PC, what is your memory usage at the time you load it? High, medium, low? how many mb, out of how much you have total?

run task mgr, go to performance tab (or process list, and sort by cpu usage) how much cpu is used during a page load when it freezes?

do you notice any other 'hiccups' or interruptions on any other networked device, if any?

It also happens to me, but then it unfreezes after a little while. It's a bit annoying sometimes, but I don't use that skin anymore so it's not a big deal.

I have tested a few skins and it seems like it could be to do with slow Java, like you said.
Once the page has fully loaded after the freeze, then it is fine. So the freeze time could depend on the Internet speed maybe?

And there were no CPU spikes for me.

I use Google Chrome too but I use normal skin so I see nothing wrong with it when I visit.

i think i'll just change themes. i'll see if it helps.

I changed theme's and it doesn't happen. I have the updated chrome + java. My computer seems fine, I had plenty of memory to spare. Strange..

At first I thought people just had crappy computers, but I've experienced this not once, but twice. Each time it happens, it's related to this advertisement that shows up. (Attached below.)

I'm not sure why it takes so long to load, it didn't even seem like a flash ad. There's no reason why it should be freezing the browser, but somehow, it does.

iirc that's a flash based ad.. is your flash version up to date?

also try a simple crtl+f5 refresh to force reload all of the page.

I uses adblock so I don't know if that has any effect (and so I actually don't see the ad, thus I never noticed if this issue is related to one particular ad.) I use firefox and I have the same problem, with the same theme as IceSage. My firefox browser freezes for a brief moment about 10 seconds or so, then the page will load normally afterward. Refresh does not seem to cut down on the time or have any effect when the browser freezes on PC load up.

Hard drive is not even half full (~400GB out of 1 TB). Problem may occur even when I have no other running programs besides Avast antivirus and a music player. I'm on my laptop with Windows 7 when it happened.

Hope that's enough info! If more info is needed, I'll post again here. Next time I'll see if I can sneak into task manager to see what's going on there if it happens again.

If it is indeed a flash based ad, it's doing a little more than just loading a simple ad. Either that or the file is abnormally large and they don't know how to properly create one.

It seems not to matter what computer you have, (well, I'm sure it does, but I doubt it's the quality of the computer.)

My flash is always up to date and I have a computer more than capable of handling it. (4gb Quad-Core Processor)

I think there's just something funky with that particular ad. (Collecting user info? Too large? *Shrug*)

Just trying to supply information on figuring out the root of the problem of "freezing," and I believe it could be it. Whether our computers can handle it / troubleshooting handling on our end is completely different.
