Feel free to lock if this has been made already.

I've been playing my crystal version a lot lately and noticed that when you catch a pokemon the color of the ball turns into the pokemon's main colors when caught. I thought this was cool but wondering why they did that.

Not really, pokeballs are usually red, and all great balls are blue.... They dont go by the pokemons main color. ;]

i believe he means how after the pokemon is captured and the screen says "you captured so and so" the pokeball's colors change to reflect the mane colors of the pokemon. For example how if you capture a hoppip the pokeballs colors change to pink and green.
Its a cool system and it was probably just added to show off the GB colors "power" at the time.

Yep, and thats a very creative thing that they did. I'm wondering if this happens in RSE and DPPPT as well?

It doesnt happen anymore. It would be really cool if it did though. Or maybe if they stayed that way so hat when you breed a pokemon it wont just be in a Pokeball.
