While I was at school, I somehow dropped my gameboy advance sp. The corner hit the ground, and it seemed fine. I tried playing Leaf Green, and the screen did not light up as it should. I have the AGS 001 model, and I want to know if there is any way to fix the screen with minimal work. Also if there are any experts out there, would it be possible to convert the screen to a backlit one? Thanks in advance! (See what I did {XD})

So the screen still works but does not light up?

If you have a tri-wing open it up and take pictures of the damage. I'll be able to help you from there.

Also the screens are not interchangeable between 001 and 101.

Exactly right...unfortunately I do not have a tri-wing...would I be able to open it with a very small flathead?

Actually yes. It has to be just the right size but you can unscrew them with a precision flat head. It is a lot harder since it is an sp though. With the original it was easier to look at the screws.

Something like this would be all you need to get it open though : https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Triwin...g_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item4188bb6200

I'll have to pick one of those up ASAP..Do you think that they'd have them at a hardware store?

I doubt it but it wouldn't hurt to check.
You may have better luck at like a radioshack or something but idk.
I've always ordered this sort of thing online.

Thanks. I'll post pictures as soon as I pick one up.
