6th Gen Gen 6 trading communication error

    I tried to trade a pokemon egg from my 3ds pokemon y game to my other 3ds Alpha sapphire game. Every time it gets to the end of the trade, I get an error message. Trading between the games worked perfectly when I was getting a Kingdra so I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do to resolve the issue.
    Both systems are connected to the wifi
