3rd Gen Getting the Plates

Ok, so i beat the E4, i got the national dex, and went to the spot on island 1 where the rockets are, but there is no cave and i cannot fight them? i thought up to this point, that i had met all of the requirments. can someone help out?


EDIT: Figured it out, you have to talk to the guy at the pokecenter on the island first

Well, to find the rest of the plates.... The Ruby Plate is in a cave with lots of Slugma on Island 1. The Sapphire Plate is harder to get - with you having to go to Island 6 to see the plate, before it gets stolen and headed to the Rocket HQ on Island 5. But you can't get in the HQ until you've been to Islands 6 and 7. When inside the rocket HQ there is a conveyor belt puzzle, and then the scientist that stole it. Phew... that was long ^_^
