Does anyone know of a good free GIF Animator? All I need to do is be able to save as GIF without distorting the colour (MS Paint kills it), add transparency, and make really quick and simple animations (like animated video game sprites). I used to use an older version of CoffeeCup. It supposedly expired after 14 days but after the 14 days, it said it would expire in a negative amount of days. I could use it forever until...I installed Windows XP SP2 and then it kicked in and finally (after like a year) expired. Now, I don't have anything. :(

The Gimp and GAP and this tutorial should help I believe.
To install Gimp on Windows, you need to download and install GTK+ 2 for Windows, found on the site, and Gimp, found on the site, as well as GIMP Animation Package for animated Gifs.
The Gimp is a free alternative to Photoshop. Not only can this make animated GIFs, it also make images. Also, there's a tutorial on advance animations as well.

Thank you. I've heared of The GIMP before. I'm sure I'll find uses for it, once I get used to it. But at the moment, its too complicated fro what I'm trying to accomplish. All I need is to make just one colour transparent and save it as a GIF (not even animated), and I can't figured just that much out. O_o

If you download the trial of Paintshop Pro, you get Animation Shop for free as well. Between the two of them, I think all you gif needs should be covered.
