I want birch to give me national dex at same time give pokedex how do i do that

Hey I want to edit an existing person on map that gives you an item but want them to battle first then give item how do that

Try looking into the process that is normally gone through to give the player the national dex, which can be found in data/maps/LittlerootTown_ProfessorBirchsLab/scripts.inc. Once you find that process, just replicate that it in the same script where Birch gives the player the normal dex, which can be found in the same file.
