If this belongs in the FAQ thread I apologise in advance

I couldn't see a glitch sticky so had to start a new thread, since this concerns a couple of odd things I've come across.

First off, I've been using AR, mainly to get pokemon not normally associated with FRLG. I coded for the legendaries, and have found a rather anoying glitch: I can't trade Mew. Each time I try, I get the same message, "this pokemon can't be traded yet". Yet I've got both ruby and sapphire plates in place and have the full Nationl Pokedex. It's highly frustrating, and poor old Mew is instantly reduced to being HM slave.

Another thing I found, which I realised had to do with game set up, is that any pokemon not from the original 150 won't evolve until you get the National 'dex. I started out with a cyndaquil, and wondered what was going on then it failed to evolve. I was so perturbed I coded for Bayleef, and discovered the same thing. By the time I finished with the elite 4 and got the National 'dex, I had a level 64 Bayleef, without using an Everstone or interupting evolution myself.

Just goes to show, cheating may be fun, but there is a price to pay!

Yes thats for pokemon like Golbat that can, in theory, get to their GSC evolution before finishing the Elite 4. If you do do something like evolve Golbat, it will start, but then it will stop and say 'Huh, it stopped evolving!' the same way as if you pressed B during evo. It says it in the booklet or maybe I read it online. Im usually at the Elite 4 with only level 30 pokemon anyway so I never had to put up with it/\.

I never have cheated but i heard something about a "obey code".Well try to find that.

I heard from the site that if you want to evole your pokemon then don't press anything at all but if you keep your pokemon like that without going evole. You have to keep pressing B when they are going to evole.
It does work. I tried it a few time to evole some Wrumple to another.

That is why I don't like to cheat very much. I would only cheat if I couldn't take not having a certain Pokemon any longer, and that isn't very likely since I am a pretty patient person.

I never cheat but I found something freaky. I caught a Kadabra and the pokedex data said,"One morning a boy with pysic powers turned into a Kadabra or something like that. But that was so funny LOL.

    hmm... i guess...

well i have a friend who cant trade deoxys ^^"

(dunno if thats the same thing or not maybe they just dont want you to get it --;;)

yea... i read that in my pokedex too @_@""

they come up w/ the weirdest things
    like machop --;;

Like i said before i'm pretty sure that Obey code thing is the only way. But like somone said before that's why i don't cheat just try and get him the ligit way.

Emerald Dex Entrie: It is rumored that a boy with psychic abilities suddenly transformed into KADABRA while he was assisting research into extrasensory powers.

I've got a pretty not-awesome glitch that maybe you guys could help me fix. After I finished the game I used the AR to get all the pokemon in my pokedex, and to catch a few that I really wanted and couldn't get (since not alot of people around here play any Pokemon games). Anyway, after I used the code, The sapphire gem in the network machine went missing, and it didn't go back to where you find it at to begin with. Now that it's gone, I cant face the Elite Four anymore because it says Lorelei is absent, even though she's nowhere to be found elsewhere in the game. Anyone know what I could do to fix it?

    I'm afraid not.

That's happened to me, too: about the only thing you can do is begin all over again, and start a new game. I guess I'm lucky: I have two GBA's and at least one copy of every pokemon game For ruby and Sapphire, I have two.) I was able to trade over to LG any pokemon from 1 to 150 I wanted to keep, then restart my copy of FR. If you've no one to trade with, about all you can do is save your pocket money, or get a newspaper round, and buy yourself another copy of the game, and another GBA.

All the same, it's tough luck when it happens!

Yes, I can confirm my age. I was born 18.01.1969

Or, if you prefer, I was six months old when they landed men on the moon.

Either way, I guess I'm the oldest member in the Pokemon Community

They were Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins ( had to look him up, he's not well known).

I love pokemon: age is no barrier if you're into something! ;)

The Mew thing is not a glitch. Mew and deoxys have this extra bit of data called an obediance bit... even though it doesn't have to do with obediance... If you cheat to get either one of them...(i don't mean by cheating for the tickets, but wild pokemon modifiers), they don't have the bit, so you cannot use them in colosseum or trade them away...

i have heard tales about people cheating to get either of those pokemon(after they have all 8 badges), yet the pokemon odn't obey... but i've never experienced this so i dunno

what you need is the "obedience bit" the only way I know to get a mew or deoxys(the only 2 that need it) with it is to go to PokemonMaker. Since I can't advertise, look on google for it.

The Obedience Bit Is only obtainable by PokemonMaker or going to Faraway Island in Emerald via some ticket which i forgot's name. it has nothing to do with levels or badges, so get that out of your head right now. Also, only mews/deoxys(es?) with the bit can be traded or used on Colosseum.
