    [PokeCommunity.com] Great Wave at Kanagawa

Pen tool in Illustrator and Photoshop... no gradients used this time :D

The original painting by Katsushika Hokusai can be found here.

Very, very, VERY impressive. I never learnt how to use illustrator, I need to learn from masters like yourself XD
The minute details are captured very accurately. The colours are portrayed perfectly, and overall it is a flawless depiction made with astounding quality and skill. Awesome, absolutely ^^ Rock on~

Was this supposed to be an spot-on resemblance or a new take on a classic?

Anyways, if it was supposed to be a spot on resemblance, the blue color was different than the original, as this one has more of a grayish tint on it.

You also drew the background a bit differently, as clouds are gone now. :sob:

The painting/drawing also doesn't have quite as many white dots as the original (Well, that's a good thing.)

Also, some of the top heads on the right boat doesn't have proper faces: they are supposed to have a white part, just like others.

Finally, the biggest, but not that big a difference was the white dots on the waves are totally gone. Buh-bye~

Anyways, besides from all the minor differences, this is surprisingly good. Was this all done by scratch, memory or were you trying to do a bit of tracing?

(This may be slightly off-topic, but you might want to get a better example of the original picture. It's a bit small, so I recommend looking for Google Pictures)

Hope to see more work from you!

    From,

Well if you insist on having a larger picture... I'm too lazy to find one myself (hah) so... use google as your tool :)

Hey Sawyer, it's been a while since I've seen your recent work posted on here. As always it is awesome but I know you didn't recreate the background correctly but the work is still simply amazing. Hope you remember me....

Yeah, I don't post very much of my work on here often... it's not for critique, I just felt like dropping by.

Thanks for the comments, but honestly I don't think it's nearly as good as my other work.
