Okay it's one of "those" threads.
Personally, I absolutely adored the Black and White story line, loved the new mechanics, the new features and everything except... the Pokekmon.
Now don't get me wrong, a lot of them were cool but I'm starting to feel that the Pokemon are becoming too colorful and I don't mean in the "better technology" kind of way but I mean in the "these don't look like Pokemon at all" kind of way.
Back during Kanto, Pokemon looked like real animals. It wasn't hard to imagine going down to your basement and imagining a Zubat or Ghastly. Generation Two just expanded on this idea. Generation Three did the same thing but with more of an "exotic" effect. Generation Four expanded the universe as a whole. We made it to Generation Five but now the new Pokemon generally feel like "neopet/yugioh" hybrids than actual creatures than you would find running around in your backyard.
Biggest Offenders? The Sarcophagus, Throh and his counterpart.
To me, to get the feel of Pokemon right, they have to be able to get the imagination going.
I found myself barely playing my friends Pokemon White Version and even then when I kind of just felt like I was playing just so I could say I beat it. Is it just me or did anyone else feel this way?
