Here is where you can discuss another Team Rocket-controlled Gym (of sorts) in the duplicitous styling and rulings of "Gymbaliar!"

    My review to come forthwith.

You guys keep on beating me!!! Teeheehee

Nice to see that Brock control is back in the form of crogunk. Teeheeehee Now Brock is complete. Teeheehee

One thing that I really notice in this episode. Team Rocket actually know that Ash and Friends can't tell though Team Rocket's disguises. Is that kinda sad that even the bad guys know how, well not to say anything mean but, stupid? teeheeheee

Also this Team Rocket plan is really coolie and good for once. This is really something that you will expect from Cassidy and Bunch, I mean Butch. Teeheehee Don't you think? Usually Cassidy and Butch's plans are large scaled like a Day Care Center or something like that. This is really up there.

    Two thumbs up! Teeheehee

I <3 that episode. I mean crogunk. I heard that what just happen when brock snaps into his love mode crogunk will pop out of his Pokeball and will stab and grab him.

Well, I covered enough to get the ball rolling, and, Reyna, you can play with next week's batch, since you're around. Before I say anything else, I saw, like, 80% of the episode, so be warned.

Anyway, this episode goes out of its way to be original, to the excellent cold opening (been a while), a unique way to alleviate Crogunk's boredom, lovely visuals (Jessie's Seviper-stylized dress), Dustox (who needs any support he can get), to creating a simple Gym just to snatch Pokemon. However, it misses its mark slightly, and I'll get there in a bit.

This episode is a good tutorial on both Gyms (and how they vary in rules) and the importances of judging (and Brock's drawing of his experience). Combined this with amusing dramatic irony with the disguises, and James ruling out of fear for Jessie's temper, you can't go wrong.

And yet, it does. I know we just had a Sinnoh Rocket "capture" with Carnivine, (not counting Mime Jr.), but why didn't Jessie capture it, despite the "issue" she had? It wasn't exactly the best reason -- James has two new captures on you, Jessie. Hehe. Crogunk with its Fighting/Poison characteristics would have been a perfect addition to her team. In addition, its oddness would evoke nice memories of her Seviper's original oddness, before that got undone. I'm not even counting the fact it's this gen's villain org main Pokemon.

I know there are many times that I think, "that Pokemon would be perfect for the Rockets." But this time, I find myself probing that line of thought even more. Although, I was amazed with the decision of using Brock instead. And with its Psyduck ability to pop up when he's making a fool out of himself, we found a replacement for the Max-ear-pulling-gag. Sighs.

Wonder if it'll fade into obscurity like Bonsly soon after its capture, and Forestress (sp may be off, there).

Despite that, it doesn't beat my other issue: type cancellation (where the Poison Jab was able to damage the Scizor). This has been going on for quite a while now, and I wish the writers would stop and actually play the game on occasion. Technicalities are one thing, I don't mind, but basic issues like these, I have to cry, "foul."

Despite those hiccups, it's the best episode so far of the season, and I hope they're all this imaginative. 8/10.

There is something else, but I'll wait til Dogasu does his comparison first.

Final note: maybe I should be grateful the episode title is actually verbalized. Because when I first saw the title, phonetically, I didn't know what to make of it at first. Headdesk.

Edit: I hope I'm not coming across as whining, here.

Well it was alot better than last nights episode..

I liked it, but at the same time I was hoping for something better.. ah well.

Anyhoo, I found it amusing to actually see Jessie in a decent fight that lasted for than 20 seconds.. xD
& I liked how Brock got Crogunk. He just stared at it... xDD
    I thought that was cute.

Not much else to say about this one though.

I want more Shinji episodes! Dx

Reyna, you can take Wednesday's & Thursday's episodes if DC doesn't, since I won't be here. However, Monday & Tuesday are MINE.

This episode was at least better than "Like it or Lup it" in that it got back to more......"traditional" routes, but still another filler, for the most part. And PUSA messed up again: they dubbed one of Croagunk's attacks as Poison Sting when it was a physical hit (it was right after Croagunk got back up after getting knocked down by Scizor). Aside from that, like DC mentioned, the type negation came back, and while I can call physical mechanics in this case, it does get annoying after a while.

Oh, yeah, Dark Charaxes: count the number of captures Jessie has had on-screen compared to the number James has had. Perhaps this is the writers giving James some payback?

Awesome. I love it when the kids get along. Heh.

Anyway, believe you me, I haven't forgotten the ratio at all -- in fact, it's annoyed me on many occasions. I wouldn't say anything here if I didn't think that particular Crogunk would be a perfect fit for her. That's about it, really.

And if you want to get into giving James payback, well, think about the events of "That's Just Swellow" and the follow-up "Off the Unbeaten Path". These recent captures are just icing on the cake.
