On July 27th 1940 a legend was born. Today marks the 80th birthday of the saucy, visionary, clever, wisecracking gray rabbit named Bugs Bunny. He was introduced to the world as we know him today in the Tex Avery animated short A Wild Hare precisely 80 years ago today, where he munched a carrot and muttered the iconic phrase in Brooklyn accent, "What's up Doc?" to his co-star Elmer Fudd, beginning a partnership that would last for nearly a century.
