Hey guys! Happy Earth day everyone!
You should try to help the Earth! Produce Clean energy!
And for people in America, cause I don't know the time of other places!
At 9:00 et and 8:00 c lets all shut down! That would help!

Only for an hour? That really doesn't sound bad at all. ^ I wish people wouldn't be so stubborn.

Not only would it help conserve energy and reduce the impact that our energy sources have on our habitat, (I think) it would also build a sense of community.

I forgot it was earth day today lol

    1 hour?
seems similar to what happened a few weeks ago.

I'm making sure to power down. But I make my Earth Day every day.

I don't know what you do on your computer, but I have to do work.

I am at University and my deadlines are a week away, so I don't have, even, an hour to spare. And I am not really going to impact the energy cutdown if I turn off my computer.

Really? Perhaps if you devoted less time to the consumption of alcoholic beverages you would have some hours to spare.:classic:

Not to mention, your post implied that regardless of the situation you wouldn't shut down.

    Happy Earth Day. :)

Today I already helped my family rake a whole bunch of leaves and later today we are going to plant two plants of mine. xD

We probably might not do the energy thing, but I still like old Earth. :)

I do believe I have not been out on a night out since last year.
The assignments don't take a day to do you know.

They take at least a week to do, because they are hard.

Unless you have actually enrolled on this course, you wouldn't know.

Well, okay, I guess your picture is a little misrepresentative - but everyone in the world has work to do, and that doesn't mean that the energy and environment should not be extremely high priorities. Frankly, I don't believe that you don't have an hour's worth of downtime (especially considering that you seem to spend a bit of time on PC). If you (and many other people) were less concerned with your own self-preservation and egoistic ends, you might have an entirely different viewpoint.

Well, you've supplied enough evidence to merit that belief with the time you spend posting on this site.

Not really, I just wanted to continue this conversation with you.

The work I am currently doing is programming a C# script in VS '08!
Which is on my laptop. So I can switch from my computer for the forum, to my laptop to the work!

Turn off your desktop computer then? Hurr.
    (Sorry to butt in.)

I agree with the latter statement — but it's the only potential practical use for one of these days; we are going to use all resources sooner or later and slowing the process by just an hour isn't going to preserve anything.

I just posted my opinion on the whole shenanigan here:

    1st Annual Earth Day Rant

I'll be posting one every year. I wonder how many people actually participated in the "Power Down". I'm hoping to save our planet Terra* from its inhabitants.

*Not the one in the movie. "Terra" as in the Latin word.
