3rd Gen Has this ever happened to you?

So I just got done playing Pokemon Emerald on Visual Boy Advance, I didn't use no cheats no nothing. Invest 30 hours into this game and after I beat the Elite 4 you know how you get the credits and the game starts over again? Well, for me the WHOLE GAME actually restarted. I got this...

"The save file has been erased due to corruption or damage."
"The internal battery has run try. The game can be played.<3"
"However, clock-based events will no longer occur."

Then I got the menu where it tells you choose between "Continue" or "Option" but for me it was "New Game"
Grrrr I hate this!

Anyways, I just got back into Pokemon again and Pokemon Emerald was the last Pokemon game I played before I quit playing Pokemon and now that I passed the game again, what Pokemon games to you guys suggest I start off on now? I just want to start the new series ASAP :)

That might be an emulator problem. Maybe ask that question in emulation. As for which game you should try next, maybe move on to gen IV and play Platinum. Try looking up information about the other games, and if you have more questions, ask in the respective thread for that game. Each one has a Q&A thread.
