    [PokeCommunity.com] Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is an online collectible card game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It is free-to-play with optional purchases to acquire additional cards and access adventures more easily. The game was announced at the Penny Arcade Expo in March 2013 and released worldwide on March 11, 2014. Hearthstone is available on both Windows and OS X systems, and is also available on iOS and Android devices. New content for the game involves the addition of new card sets and gameplay, taking the form of either expansion packs or single-player adventures that reward the player with collectible cards upon completion.
By November 2015, there were more than 40 million registered Hearthstone accounts.

Newbie getting into Hearthstone recently (or more or less still learning from friends and playing on their account for the moment).

Does anyone on PC play it? What kind of heros do you like playing and what do you think of the game in general?

I've been playing Hearthstone quite a bit over the past month or so. I originally played it around a year or two ago but it fell out of my interests until recently. But I love all the Warcraft in the game, coming from a WoW background. It's a really good game, I wasn't originally expecting a free game of that quality or replayability. There's a pretty good amount of strategy if you have the right cards.

I usually play with Juno and a couple irl friends if I'm not playing against a random opponent. Thrall and Anduin are my favorite heroes :)

I played it, but I'm really bad at it, I've never gotten past 18th rank.
I stopped playing because I'm bad at this. Everyone just destroys me with their decks full of legendary cards.
So I don't like Hearthstone (I'm really sorry if it's offensive, I think Hearthstone is pay2win game, but I'm probably just too bad at playing games) and I don't have favourite character (they are all cool and have great combos).

I've never been one for strategy games nor any other card games but I really love Hearthstone. I got introduced into it during the end of July when Naxxramas first came out but I didn't really get into it until around the last couple of months of last year.
Best decks would probably be a tie between Shaman, Warrior and Druid, but I can play Paladin and sometimes Mage quite well despite missing a couple of cards. Terrible at Hunter, Rogue, Priest and Warlock (though have a deck for quests).

I'm really sorry if it's offensive, I think Hearthstone is pay2win game, .

Don't think anyone would really be offended haha. I wouldn't really call it pay2win (where paying is the best or only viable way to compete) considering there are lots of great players who can get pretty high without having to spend a single dollar. Not to mention players who spend money for 40 packs and don't get a single legendary. You don't need to pay to get legendaries or great cards.

I've been lucky to get a few great legendaries and other great cards from basic packs and I haven't spent anything. Pay to reduce grind what some people call it since paying is more saving you time from grinding and to get more packs at a faster pace.

You've probably just been really unlucky since there are people around level 20ish who stay low leveled just to scum out wins from new players :/

Someone always gets offended when someone says that their favourite game is bad. Better be safe than start a flame war.
I guess I could be unlucky, I spent a lot of time on this game and wouldn't consider myself a new player, but I didn't get any good legendary card (the one I got is considered one of the worst legendary cards).

There's definitely a bit of an advantage for players who are willing to pay, but earning free card packs doesn't take too long either. If anything it makes me feel better about myself when some guy who's obviously spent a lot of money on their deck pulls out a bunch of legendaries but I still win with my basic free deck because they're not good at the game/RNG gods were nice to me. :P

But yeah, it can be a bit frustrating sometimes, there are some cards that are just really unfair (I remember I played a guy who had a card that restored his character to full health and then some cards that buffed his minions +10/+10). It kind of takes the strategy out of the game when you encounter people like that, imo.

It's fun when you play with a friend though - like Austin mentioned, I play with him sometimes and it's just nice to play with someone you know has no advantages over you. It just comes down to luck and strategy when I play with him. :)

Think for anyone who is having trouble scoring some legendaries, they should at least look at doing the solo challenges to get the legendaries from there. Getting cards like Lotheb and Emperor Thaurissan can really help a deck without legendaries (especially if you're getting other cards like Sludgebelcher and Mad Scientist which also helps a lot). The only downside is that you're spending 700 gold per wing which can be annoying as heck when you just want to open packs.

Reno Jackson decks are absolute pains in the neck right next to secrets paladin :c Reno is from the latest solo adventure so it's not a surprise that I've seen it pop up more than other legendaries since anyone who's done at least the first wing will have it. Though I don't know of anything that buffs his board +10/+10 ?

Yep, this guy. I thought I had him since I was going to win the next turn, then he drew that. :P And sorry, was unclear about the other card - wasn't a board buff, just single minion - I think it was Lantern of Power?

I freaked out for a second haha cause I was like "Which OP card gives 10+/10+ to everything" xD
I have it as well, but I don't think many people use it since it comes from this card which is already expensive:

And then having to choose between that and these two:

It's like wasting two turns :/
I've only seen it once, but that's because my friend was trying something, but other than that it's not really common to come across that. I'd probably cry internally if it was normal to use those OP (but expensive) cards xD

Oh god no, that would be devastating, haha. I only saw it that one time too - I can see the disadvantage mana-wise but if you can keep Rafaam on board for two turns after you play him it's game over. I wasn't able to clear him in time, at least. :P But yeah, I can see why some people wouldn't like putting it in their deck.
