Hello, this is Piterpicher. I've been a Pokemon player since 2011 (late 2nd Grade).
The first game I played and completed was Black which came with my 3DS. I've also played at least one version of most DS games (Pearl, HeartGold, White 2) and 3DS games (Y, Omega Ruby, Sun), plus Let's Go Eevee.
I also played the spinoffs like Mystery Dungeon (Blue Rescue Team, Explorers of Darkness, Gates to Infinity, Rescue Team DX) and Link Battle, plus I've watched the anime (I got tired of it halfway through DP). In addition, I had a decent amount of merch like trading cards, figurines, and the Torterra Battle Launcher.
Nowadays, I don't even touch my Nintendo Switch (nor have I played any games like SWSH, Legends Arceus, or SV) and game exclusively on PC, which is why I dabble into all the various Pokemon ROM Hacks. Haven't played that many, but I've enjoyed Pokemon Coral, B&W3, Topaz, and Countryball Catch 'em All. Also like the original fan games like Bushido and Infinite Fusion. I hope to try out more when I have the time.
My favorite Pokemon is probably Bisharp, I like its design and unique type combination a lot. I also like Drapion.

Have you tried Insurgence ? It is, in my opinion, the best fan game I have played!
Bisharp looks cool indeed! It has a samurai vibe (not to forget its evolution, Kingambit. ^^)

Favorite mainline game is either of the Unova games (the Unova region was generally solid, following the duology's story was satisfying, and the gameplay was also well-done). Favorite spin-off was probably PMD Explorers (love the story and it polished up the gameplay of the original, even done multiple playthroughs).
I haven't tried Insurgence, but probably should.
I don't remember all of my Black team. I definitely had a Samurott, Watchog, Amoonguss, and Reshiram (with some other Flying Pokemon before it). One gaffe I did is catching a Bouffalant with a Master Ball, then I didn't even use it!
I always go for the Water starter. The typing just feels good to use, I suppose.

I can also suggest Solar Light / Lunar Dark and Zeta / Omicron, pretty good fan games. And, if you are into hard, top level battles and hairpulling puzzles, you can try Reborn!
