Help!! can somone explain to me how to but a picture into the post please

Im new to this whole experence of forums and i was hoping someone could explain to me how i can put a pucture into a post and how to change my avitar picture by my name.

You can't put an image in your posts until you have 15 posts.
Once you have you can use the

tags, putting the URL of the image in between them.

You can change your avatar here.

what if the picture i wanted to use wasnt on the internet.. ?

Then you'd need to upload it to somewhere, you can put images into your album(s) and it'll be hosted on this website, or you can use an external image hosting website such as imageshack, photobucket, tinypic etc.
