Old man here trying to relieve some stress over on pokemon showdown. I would like to put together a team for every generation, giving me the chance to enjoy many different kinds of battles. I am old school, used to play on IIrc, and Netbattle, and would like to enter the modern world of the metagame.
My GEN 1, and 2 teams are set, proven successful, and are fun for me. Everything past that is lost on me. I did quite a bit of Gen 3 battling, but have since forgotten my teams. It seems there are 6 generations now, so i will need a little help on 3-6. I am new to this forum, but not forums in general, and i am fully aware of the search button. I work 70+ hours a week, and do not have the time to make this as much of a hobby as i have in the past.
Gen 1-3 I always used the original 150 pokemon, and have taken pride in that. I know there are MANY new pokemon, but i would like to stick to the original 150. No exceptions. Creativity, uncertainty, and prediction will allow me to succeed. With a base team, i am pretty good at adjusting movesets, and replacing a pokemon here and there to make the team function as a whole, not as individual pokemon.
I have started playing some random battles, will hopefully learn alot from this thread, and will continue to read and learn. I just need a little help getting started in generations i am not formiliar with.
That being said, lets start with a gen 3 team. From what i remember, i know i had a endure reversal Dodrio, pretty sure alakazam, charizard, and slowbro were on the team, and am not in the habit of using legendaries (Mewtwo, and the birds).
Any suggestions are appreciated. What is the best way to set up dodrio? I haven't been in the generation 3 metagame (or any metagame) in several years. Once we get my gen3 team set, we will move on to other generations.
