(I thought this would be the best place for this thread, but if it's not a mod can move it.)

I want to create a trainer for a Pokemon RP but I don't know what to make. Could someone describe all the types of trainers to give me something to choose from? I can only think of a breeder and I know there's more than that. >_<

Well...There are several depending on the rp.
If also depends on what pokemon you like. The whole thing about making Rp characters is that you can be whatever you want to.

I know, it's just that... What happens when you don't know what you want to be? ^^" Actually, I'd like to make a breeder but I don't think I know enough about it...

Hmm....Well heres what you could do. You could make a char that is a breeder in training and follow someone through an rp to see how. Start with an easy character like for instance someone similar to yourself. Then you can add stuff like a past, goals, new looks, ect> Play with it. What I do is I design characters that fit things that I want to be but never could be.

Well, I can name a few classic stereotypes I've seen in Rps that you might want to base your character(s) on if it'll be any help!

    Personality

    1- The quiet innocent person, this type of character is good for someone who doesn't often manage to role play, or for someone who wants to create a character naturally through their own liking. I'll give you an example;

Julia, one of my characters was the long lost sister of another one of my characters. My intentions of her at first was to be a sweet, innocent, lonely meek girl, fits the description above perfectly, right?… If you go with the flow, you'll find these characters are very short-lived. Julia ended up being spunky, sporty, bratty, and had the mouth the size of a cow!

2- The brave warrior-type trainer, Role Plays are often revolving around these characters, and if there is a similar character in the group, it is often that they won't quite get along… If you're honest with yourself and your character, that's what you'll find. If fireworks are something you like to watch, then I suggest you try out a character like this, 'cause they're the ones that will get all the attention.

3- THE FLIRT! Haha I LOVE this character, the flirt is always fun, and very outgoing… You won't have much to do with the completion of finishing a role play, but the flirt is usually the one who ties the group together, it's important to have relationships with other members of the group… And Quest-shipping really does add drama to the point where other members of the group are prioritized by each member. Someone could be being attacked by a Deoxys with no pokemon, but if your quest-shipping partner is hurt, who would you stay with? Another part honesty plays in Role Playing, the flirt is part of the drama, but you can have tons of fun with the flirt too.

4- The Nice guy… Awe… The nice guy… Could be the nice girl, too =P. They may, or may not want a romantic relationship with other characters depending on you, this is where a part of YOU is thrown into the character! The nice guy/girl, self-explanitory, no?

5- The goof, bah, the GOOF! Pretty much the flirt, just without the flirting, haha. This type of character isn't often played by many… Infact I've never seen a character that would fit the description of "goof"… But hey, first time for anything!

6- The lone wolf… like the shy, quiet type, just more of a jerk, hehe. These types are often developed throughout Role Plays as well, just like Quiet tpyes. I'll give you an example.

Dex, (Character of "The Pokemaster") Started at the Academy being the know-it-all guy that wanted nothing to do with anyone… Until he met Skye(character of "Skye"), and since then, Dex has really lightened up, and went from insulting Skye's friends, to embracing them as his own… But will it last? We have yet to see, but this could happen to any lone-wolf!

7- The Intelligent type, people may want to start out like this, but it's hard… Role Playing is usually dominated with bronze rather than brains, but if more "Intelligent" Type characters were to go around, maybe we could add an element of strategy into the pot! That's when the Intelligent types will get the spotlight, when they are needed to decipher something, be it a puzzle, or a scripture. They are usually mixed with either the lone-wolfs, the quiet types, or the nice types.

8- Damsel in distress, okay, maybe not always a damsel, could be a guy! This character is always getting hurt, either emotionally, or physically. This type of character could also pass as a hopeless romantic, depending on how you would act if you were in certain situations. Damsels could be rescued by one person, fall for them, then be saved by another, that starts a love-triangle, it adds more drama... Like a flirt, but nicer-the romance completely depends on the person, you could just be an innocent person getting hurt all the time!

Now you were talking about Breeding before, correct? Occupations aren't something that is usually important, but you may have something in mind, so I'll tell you about it anyways… Although I'm sure you know, hehe.

Breeder, a breeder is someone who puts pokemon in a natural and comfortable environment. The main objective of a breeder is to end up with an egg at the end of a session….

…Annddd as I write this, Kagome summarizes everything that needs to be known XD

    *applaudes*

I'd like to add one more:

    9. The evil one- The evil RP character can do one of two things: remain evil, or change to be good. An evil RP character typically has a dark and secretive past.

Take the Misadventures in Hogwarts RP. Andrew (played by Skye) was truely evil. He would have remained evil had Nat (played by yours truely) hadn't given up on him. Now, Andrew has confessed his love to Nat and has returned to the good side.

(Aaaaaaaw, how I love happy endings!!)

lol! Gomen ne! I like your descriptions better!

Aw that's so cute! I love misadventures at hogwarts, I've been skimming through the 3 terms… I wanna join the 4th XD Yep, The Evil character is definitely one to be thought about… Like Alexako from Pokemon Dimensions, I'd say she was a mix between lone-wolf and a reformed evil character… OR Hikaru from PD! He was one of Deoxys' guards, until he was returned to his human state.
