Help with Miracle Sea (PMD2)

I'm stuck at Miracle Sea and I can't even make it to the Kangaskahn Statue at the relay point. If I can't even get to that, there's no way I'll beat Gyarados.

    My team is:

    Piplup Level 64

    Dig
    Ice Beam
    Hydro Pump
    Bubblebeam

    Chimchar Level 60

    Fire Blast
    Fire Spin
    Ember
    Flame Wheel

I also take a Lanturn into Miracle Sea a lot as my electric striker. I'm not sure what level it's at, but I do know its moves:

    Lanturn Level ???

    Discharge
    Thunderbolt
    Shock Wave
    Signal Beam

Any help would be greatly appreciated. To anyone who can give advice, thanks!

If you can, try to keep your chimchar out of the way, put him between you and the lanturn. Dishcarge will come in handy, both in the dungeon and with Gyrados (it's flying/water, double whammy!) But a grass type 4th member that knows razor or magical leaf to pick off the foes from a distance would be a good option too...

If I'm correct, Finneon and Lumineon are also in the dungeon. Whenever one of them ends up on the floor, all water-type moves are drawn into it and then they'll have no affect.

Having a member who knows Fury Attack could be helpful against Gyrados since it'll attack continiously until the move misses.

I'm not there yet, but I can tell its full of water pokemon. KEep chimchar out of your way(like princess said, put it in the middle) then when it comes to Gyrados, use LAnturn's Electric moves, and it will come in handy if Chimchar learns fury swipes

Thanks to your tactics, I finally beat Miracle Sea this morning.

Lanturn's Discharge was, as Princess said, very effective against Gyarados. The only problem was that Piplup's Ice Beam froze Gyarados for like 100 turns and no one could attack him. My other recruits kept on using moves but they never hit him! LOL

Thanks again! I beat a huge part of the game this afternoon and now I'm off to battle Darkrai! His dungeon is the largest one I've seen (besides the Zero Isles) but I can handle it.

Ah I was thinking I'd be able to help you, and then I remembered that I had no problem with the place, because I had used a cheat code. I didn't want to, but when I was at Temporal Tower I had NO REVIVER SEEDS. Thus, Primal Dialga was impossible. So I had to use a cheat to get max HP...>_< Made the rest of the game kinda too easy...
