Hello all, I am new to the site (therefore I am posting in this forum) and i would like some help with inserting new tilesets. I have watched many tutorials about this but I don't see where I am going wrong. I altered an original tileset in paint (pallet 3 to be exact) and I made sure to use the color picker so that only colors that were originally in the pallet were used while I made some new tiles to insert into the game. (some buildings and roads with sidewalks) All of this went fine and I loaded it into advance map (I'm using 1.95) and it showed up in the pallet screen completely fine. I moved it into where the blocks went to be placed into the game (only in black space never overlapping the other tiles) and had no problem at this stage either. However, once I finished and clicked load new blocks all sorts of things got messed up. All of the tiles on the side of the screen got scrambled and recolored, and many tiles already on the map were looking all sorts of messed up and I have no idea why. I thought I did everything right but I obviously messed up somewhere. Can somebody please explain to me what I am doing wrong? Perhaps guide me through it or explain to me a new way to do it? Also it might help to mention that I was altering Pallet Town on an unchanged version of FireRed.

    Can you get a picture?

From the sounds of it you inserted your tile over something else, which would explain tiles messing up on reload.

Here is a screenshot of what happened. I tried messing around with it some more by inserting tiles in different ways with different programs but just about every time my colors get all messed up like this and my map is changed. If I understand you correctly I am not inserting my tiles over any other tiles because I expanded the number of blocks per tileset specifically so that I wouldn't have to insert tiles over each other. I only inserted tiles over the black space at the bottom. My inserted tiles either don't appear, are only partially there and are jumbled in with the others, or are completely disformed and I really have no idea why.

    Spoiler:

It looks like something is corrupt. Perhaps you inadvertently changed the size of the tileset? Try inserting it into another ROM? If the same happens assume the above ><.
