    Hello everyone! I am kinda new to this gig, but I have one important question:
    How do I use XSE to decompile to another language?
    I am trying to translate this Chinese rom hack to English, but am having problems.
    The XSE decompiles to ? or broken ascii characters.
    I tried changing the system locale to Chinese, but it didn't work.
    Can somebody please help me? I am in bit of a mess ;_;

    The third gen Pokemon games are able to make use of 256 characters, with each one being represented by a byte ranging from 0x0 to 0xFF. The games released in the west with latin-script have completely different characters than what would have been released in China and come out as jumbled since Chinese version would have characters in places beyond the usual A-Z.

    Either get your hands on whatever tool was used to make the hack in the first place (which is probably the easiest option) or you will have to alter the source code of XSE so that it prints the correct Chinese characters for each byte in a text string. The file that it looks like you would have to edit you have Chinese characters print is 'modTextSapp.bas'.
